What is the point of spending time in a noisy environment with scattered thoughts? Now I am determined to abandon this life and practice meditation, and afterwards dedicate the merit. Eighty-seventh Instruction. Then, contemplate the virtues of solitude: All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past attained nectar by practicing in peaceful forests. Therefore, I am also happy to go to a solitary forest. There, there is no noise or distraction, no business or busyness, no trade or farming, no association with children. Being with birds and animals fills one with happiness. Water and leaves and the like are suitable for ascetic food. Caves and the sides of rocky mountains and the like are dwellings suitable for Dharma. Because there is no social interaction, virtue naturally increases. Because awareness is naturally clear, wisdom is clear and transparent. Therefore, since there are many virtues of solitude, I must dwell in solitude from this very day, thinking thus, and afterwards dedicate the merit. Eighty-eighth Instruction. Then, the actual practice of meditation: Endowed with the seven aspects of Vairochana, taking refuge and generating Bodhicitta. Without thinking about anything, without grasping anything, abiding effortlessly in that state, then a Samadhi arises in which the field of appearance is not obstructed, and grasping and conceptualization are pacified. Afterwards, dedicate the merit. Eighty-ninth Instruction. Then, regarding the Prajnaparamita, there are three aspects. First, observing the nature of appearances as eight examples of illusion: Having generated Bodhicitta, contemplate thus: All that appears as the five external objects is appearing as the face of delusion, even though it does not exist, like the appearance of a dream. Appearing suddenly from the collection of causes and conditions, like the form of a magic trick. Appearing as if it exists when it does not, like the appearance of an optical illusion. Not being truly present when it appears, like the form of a mirage. Appearing in whatever is inside and outside, like the echo of a rock. Having no basis and no dependence, like a city of Gandharvas. Appearing but having no inherent existence, like the appearance of a reflection. Appearing from nothing, whatever arises, like a city of emanations. From the moment it appears, it is false, like an empty form without substance, contemplating thus, and finally dedicate the merit. Ninetieth Instruction. Then, contemplating the emptiness of Dharmata, having generated Bodhicitta
