That this samadhi can be quickly accomplished. Like this, not subduing the mind and body becomes a state of agitation, which is contrary to the path of tranquility. Being in a place where many people gather, such as near villages, will degenerate due to distraction. Being fond of dwelling in sleep, drowsiness, and laziness, other things cannot be accomplished, let alone samadhi, which is contradictory. Agitation and regret, because the mind is distracted, will hinder insight. Associating with many people and friends will become a place of many trivial matters and attachment and aversion, therefore it is contrary to meditation. Being fond of talking will diminish the experience of samadhi that one already has, and will become the source of hatred and many disputes. If these are abandoned, samadhi will naturally increase, and one will be upholding the Dharma of the Victorious Ones. As it was said before: Not liking noise and liking solitude, having few acquaintances and abandoning sleep and laziness, not being timid, not being agitated, and subduing body and mind, then it is not difficult to obtain this supreme samadhi. Also, as it is said in the Wisdom Seal: Staying away from crowds and being extremely inclined to tranquility, being as beautiful as a mountain deer and wandering without a fixed abode, like the wind in the sky, obtaining without attachment, like that is upholding the Dharma of the Victorious Ones. Staying in a solitary place and accomplishing with few activities, furthermore: There is no noise of people in towns and near towns, there is no close association with many people in residences and monasteries, there are no various kinds of affairs and trivial matters, that this samadhi can be quickly accomplished. If one associates with people in towns and near towns, or with those in places like Sado, or with ordained people in monasteries, being entangled in the distracting affairs of this life, then one will never be able to accomplish the samadhi of tranquility. Wherever one dwells, if one has few acquaintances and does few things, good deeds will naturally increase, and one will be able to accomplish samadhi, because there is much right mindfulness. In the Ratnakuta Sutra it says: In the future, monks will be frivolous, distracted, and unsubdued, arrogant due to gain and respect, and will become angry with those who uphold the precepts. Those who desire samadhi should not rely on them, but dwell alone on the edge

in the dwelling place of. Stay and enjoy solitude. That's what it says. It should be spent only by proper attention. As it says in "Friendly Epistle": In order to see the true meaning, you should get used to paying attention to things as they are. Similarly, there is no other Dharma that possesses qualities. That's what it says. What can be accomplished by a person of the Mahayana lineage? Also: Not for the happiness of this life and the fruits of happiness in the next life, nor for one's own peace, but for the sake of beings. Those who desire liberation from existence, who are determined to renounce and are full of sorrow, will quickly attain this supreme samadhi. Thus, one should abide by cultivating meditation in a peaceful monastery for the benefit of others. For one's own benefit, seeking the peace of the hearers and self-realizers is not the path for those who have entered the noble Mahayana. Therefore, the happiness and fruits of this life, and the happiness and fruits of the next life, obtaining the glory of gods and humans, and not desiring peace for one's own sake, but for the sake of sentient beings in samsara, one should cultivate meditation with a mind that is weary of existence and determined to renounce it. It should be known as the basis of the individual. From the supreme samadhi: Not clinging to the happiness of existence, free from the mind of seeking peace alone, possessing a mind weary of conditioned things, he attains the most supreme samadhi. That's what it says. Therefore, one should not cling to all the happiness of this life, and especially those who are greedy for wealth should learn to reduce their possessions. As it says in "Friendly Epistle": Like poison, weapons, enemies, and fire, renounce the desire for sensual pleasures. Desires are the cause of ruin, as the Blessed One said, like the Kimpa fruit. They should be abandoned, for with these iron fetters, these worlds are bound in the prison of samsara. That's what it says. Because of attachment to inner sentient beings, one should mainly abandon them. As it says in that same text: Regarding the body of a young woman, one should see it as something separate, foul-smelling, with nine openings, like a container full of impurities, difficult to fill, covered with skin, and even ornaments are something separate. Also, as it says in "Mindfulness": A woman is a destroyer, destroying this world and the next. If you want to benefit yourself, then you should abandon women. And the sutra of the Bodhisattva Pitaka
