Through the path of seeing, one can eliminate the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing. Thus it is. Then, with the four dharmas of each of the four noble truths, that is, with the same nature of wisdom, liberation from the afflictions of the aspects of the four truths of the three realms is the antidote, the path of liberation. Similarly, the four subsequent acceptances and the four subsequent knowledges are the antidotes that extend the distance, the special path. Thus, those abandoned are also the two obscurations, and one is liberated from these two. As the *Madhyāntavibhāga* says: "The obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge are shown as two. All obscurations are therein. When they are exhausted, it is considered liberation." Thus it is said. The difference between the two is, as the *Uttaratantra* says: "Whatever conceptual thought such as miserliness, that is considered the obscuration of afflictions. Whatever conceptual thought about the three spheres, that is considered the obscuration of knowledge." Thus it is said. Therefore, whatever makes the mind extremely uneasy, whether it is unwholesome or unlabelled, such as miserliness, is the obscuration of afflictions. Whatever clings to the truth of the three spheres, and is not separated from the wholesome with outflows or the unlabelled, is the conceptual thought of grasping and being grasped, that is, object and subject, is the obscuration of knowledge. Among these, the imputed afflictions are to be abandoned by the path of seeing, and the innate ones are to be abandoned by the path of meditation. The coarse conceptual thoughts of grasping and being grasped of the obscuration of knowledge are to be abandoned by the path of seeing, and the subtle ones are to be abandoned by the path of meditation. The difference in realization is that the two selflessnesses are directly realized by the wisdom beyond the world. The qualities are the twelve hundred, etc., of the first ground mentioned earlier. The difference in time is that initially the four acceptances of dharma, divided by the four truths, arise simultaneously. After that, the four knowledges of dharma arise simultaneously. After that, the four subsequent acceptances arise simultaneously. After that, the four subsequent knowledges arise simultaneously. Therefore, in the four moments of action completion, the four types of entities arise as sixteen differences, because the four truths are realized simultaneously, and the four acceptances and four knowledges arise sequentially. Among these, the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing are abandoned by the acceptance of dharma in one moment, and arise in the order of the four parts of the path of seeing. Furthermore, at the time of the first ground, one meditates on the seven branches of enlightenment. What are the seven branches of enlightenment? As the *Friendly Letter* says: "Mindfulness, discrimination of dharma, diligence, joy, tranquility, and samādhi."

, and equanimity, these seven are the limbs of enlightenment, the accumulation of virtue that achieves nirvana. Thus it is said. How is it? In the Sutra on the Aspects of Enlightenment, it says: Manjushri, whoever sees all phenomena as having no substance because there is no mindfulness and no attention, this is the limb of perfect mindfulness of enlightenment. Manjushri, whoever does not fully accomplish virtue, non-virtue, and the unstated, because all phenomena are solitary and unobservable, this is the limb of perfect discrimination of dharma of enlightenment. Manjushri, whoever does not take or abandon the three realms because the perception of the body is destroyed, this is the limb of perfect diligence of enlightenment. Manjushri, whoever does not generate joy in all compounded things because joy and displeasure are destroyed, this is the limb of perfect joy of enlightenment. Manjushri, whoever's mind has become extremely subdued in all phenomena because the object of focus is not focused upon, this is the limb of perfect subduing of enlightenment. Manjushri, whoever's mind does not focus because he contemplates the dissolution of all phenomena, this is the limb of perfect samadhi of enlightenment. Manjushri, whoever does not abide in all phenomena, does not rely on, does not cling to, does not bind, and does not truly see all phenomena, becoming one of equanimity and attaining joy, this is the limb of perfect equanimity of enlightenment. Thus it is said. The path of meditation is: From then on, in order to familiarize oneself with what has been seen, the path of meditation has small, medium, and large, each divided into: small of small, medium of small, and large of small, etc., the nine grounds in order. Immaculate and light-making, radiant, purifying white manifest, long gone unwavering, excellent intelligence, in the clouds of dharma. Right view and thought, speech and action, livelihood effort, mindfulness, samadhi, the eight noble paths. That is also the path of cultivation is called the path of meditation, which is to familiarize oneself with the meaning of what has been seen from above to above in the definitive liberation component and the path of seeing. As the Ornament of Realization says: The limbs of the definitive liberation and, the path of seeing and the path of meditation itself, repeatedly thinking and, measuring and definitely contemplating the path of meditation. Thus it is said. That also small, medium, large three also small
