It is held by the ground. After that, one is held by the path of entering the first ground. After that, ten are held by the ten grounds, such as the Joyful Ground, and are the objects of practice of the paths of seeing and meditation. After that, five are held by the special path. After that, the three kinds of bodhicitta are held by the Buddha ground through the gates of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. Thus, the various distinctions of bodhicitta are held from the ground of the first practitioner to the Buddha ground. Some think that the last three in this case are not reasonable to explain as the teachings combined with the Ground of Universal Light, because the Buddha does not observe entering into it, because he does not observe exhaustion or limit. The Buddha said that the ground entered by the Arhat of the Mahayana, that is, the three of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice of the tenth ground are explained. In the Ornament of the Sutras, it is said: "The bodhicitta of the Buddha's sons is shown to be like clouds." Therefore, these twenty-two are said from the path of accumulation to the tenth ground. Here, if asked, does the Buddha ground have bodhicitta or not? It is not like the bodhicitta of the learner that is obtained now, because it has already been obtained, and because it has passed the time of vows, there is no bodhicitta taken by rituals. There is ultimate bodhicitta, because the bodhicitta obtained by the nature of reality is obtained and not lost, and it is more and more above, because there is emptiness that is not abandoned, and there is great compassion without object that accomplishes the work, as it is said in the Middle Mother Sutra: "I see with the Buddha's eye, and with whatever bodhicitta I am endowed, beyond the world of the eastern direction as many as the sands of the Ganges, those sentient beings who have fallen into the places of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, for the benefit and happiness of them, I teach the Dharma." Thus, of the twenty-two, the teacher Glorious Wisdom, thinks that the first three are aspiration, and the latter nineteen are action, because with the difference of the three of intention and so on, aspiration has three kinds, and action is called nineteen kinds. Although it is said like this, it must be thought that there are both aspiration and action at every moment.

Aspiration is the aspect of striving for enlightenment, and the two aspects of entering and combining to differentiate practice must be complete. The basis for generating Bodhicitta is also that, according to the Mind-Only school, in order to obtain what has not been obtained initially, it must arise based on any of the seven types of individual liberation vows. As stated in the "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment": "Among the seven types of individual liberation vows, those who always possess other vows have the potential for the Bodhisattva vow, otherwise not." According to the Madhyamaka school, Bodhicitta can arise in any mind that desires to take it, and it does not necessarily require a leisure and endowment body. As stated in the "Heap of Jewels Sutra": "At the time of explaining this Dharma category, countless beings such as gods, nagas, asuras, garudas, and mahoragas generated the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Bodhicitta." These two views are understood to be not contradictory in meaning. Thus, although the name of individual liberation vow is not given at the time of generating Bodhicitta, it is actually necessary to promise not to kill, etc., which is similar in meaning to the individual liberation vow. From this perspective, the basis is necessarily similar to some extent, because Bodhicitta can only arise in someone who has turned away from things that harm meaning. If one cannot keep any of the individual liberation vows, then Bodhicitta cannot arise in any case, because it contradicts the very precepts of Bodhicitta itself. In short, the place gathered by the being who wants to take it is the basis of the body, and the special mind of faith and other merits is the basis of thought. As stated in the "Konchok Tala Sutra": "Having faith in the Buddha and the Buddha's Dharma, having faith in the unsurpassed enlightenment, having faith in the conduct of the Bodhisattvas, those with wisdom can generate Bodhicitta." The basis of abiding is also that, wherever it arises, it abides on that basis until the cause of decline does not occur. The cause of generating Bodhicitta is: faith directed towards the Buddha, compassion directed towards sentient beings, and obtaining the benefits of the Bodhicitta mind, these three give rise to Bodhicitta. As stated in the "Ornament of the Sutras": "The power of friends, the power of causes, and the root, the power of hearing, the power of habituating to virtue, the unstable and stable arise, the Bodhicitta taught by others is explained." That is, relying on a noble friend or being urged by a virtuous spiritual friend.
