Offer the torma. Eat one yourself. Or, give one part to the Three Jewels, one to the Dharma protectors, one to yourself, and one to the beings who have the right to the remaining offerings. As it says in the Compendium of Trainings: Food should be divided into four parts: First, offer pure food to the gods. Then, to the Dharma protectors and guardians, offer an extremely large torma. Give what is left over from what you have eaten and drunk to all beings. Thus it is said. Or, as it is said in the Holy Dharma Vinaya, with the first of three parts, offer to the Three Jewels. The second part is set aside for the sake of a renunciate, a Brahmin, or a royal family member who might suddenly come. The third part is enjoyed. That is, when eating, one should eat with the thought of the impurity of food, the thought of aversion, the thought of benefiting the city of insects, and the thought of causing the great accomplished one who proceeds to the essence of enlightenment to abide for a while. One should not eat with the thought of increasing attachment and desire. That is, one part of the four parts of the body is empty, two parts are food, and one part is drink, as it is said in the Eight Limbs: Two parts of the stomach are for food, one part is considered to be for drink, and in the places of wind and so on, the fourth part is properly reserved. Or, as it arises from the basis of food, two parts of the three parts are for food and drink, and one part is left empty. That is, if one is hungry, it harms the assembly of insects, some diseases arise, and one is unable to engage in activities. If one is too full, foul odors arise, many diseases occur, and one is unable to engage in samadhi and other faults. As it says in the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life: One should eat only moderately. One should eat in this way. Then, afterwards, maintain the thought of impermanence and dedicate the food. As it is said in the scriptures: May the king, the benefactor himself, and also the other assemblies of beings who dwell in the city, always attain happiness. Thus it is said. Then, when walking, one should look as far as the yoke and examine the creatures on the path, so that the mind is not distracted. As it says in the Compendium: Walking while looking as far as the yoke, the mind is without distraction. Thus it is. Also, look down with your eyes lowered, and if someone comes, say "Welcome" with a smile, and in times of fear, look in all directions. As it says in the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life: To look around aimlessly,
