The Fruit of the Six Perfections is: Furthermore, generosity brings enjoyment, discipline brings happiness, patience brings beautiful form, diligence brings qualities and majesty, meditation brings peace of mind, and wisdom brings liberation. In this, giving away possessions while being embraced by the mind of enlightenment, guarding vows of misconduct, destroying anger, striving for virtue, focusing the mind on virtue, and knowing the nature of the two truths, practicing with the virtue of the six perfections will obtain the supreme fruit. As the Ratnavali says: Generosity and discipline, patience and diligence, meditation and wisdom, and compassion, etc. Generosity is giving away one's own wealth, discipline is doing things for the benefit of others, patience is abandoning anger, diligence is joy in virtue, meditation is single-pointed and without disturbing emotions, wisdom is determining the meaning of truth, and loving-kindness is for all sentient beings, with compassion as the only friend. Generosity brings enjoyment, discipline brings happiness, patience brings radiance, diligence brings majesty, meditation brings peace, wisdom brings liberation, and loving-kindness accomplishes all purposes. All seven of these, at once, through the perfections, attain the inconceivable realm of wisdom, and become the protector of the world. So it is said. Therefore, the six perfections are practiced with loving-kindness, that is, embraced by the mind of enlightenment. It will be explained in detail below. The Fruit of the Four Immeasurables is: The benefits of the four immeasurables are: loving-kindness brings delight, compassion accomplishes benefit, joy brings abundance, and equanimity brings no disturbance. In short, the result of the accumulation of merit and wisdom is that temporary higher realms and ultimate definite goodness are achieved. This is the tradition of the great chariot of the good path. It is what accomplishes the perfection of the Buddhas of the three times. In this, with loving-kindness, one becomes pleasing to all, with compassion, one obtains infinite benefits, with joy, one obtains perfect wealth, and with equanimity, one makes the mind workable. In the sutra it is said: Having a vast heart of loving-kindness, making seven parts, definite quantity, not common to hearers and solitary Buddhas, one obtains the pleasing and colorful adornments of gods and humans. So it is said and so on. Furthermore, in the Ratnavali:

If with the food of three hundred hungry ghosts, one gives alms three times a day, with a moment's loving-kindness, rain will not fall on such virtuous deeds. Gods and humans will arise with loving-kindness, and they will also be protected, with ease of mind and much happiness, poison and weapons will not harm, one will achieve things without effort, and will be born in the world of Brahma. Even if one does not attain liberation, one will obtain eight virtues of the Dharma of loving-kindness. If one causes sentient beings to generate the mind of Bodhi, and makes it firm, one will always obtain the mind of Bodhi, which is as firm as the king of mountains. With faith, one will not turn to unfavorable circumstances, with discipline, one will go to a good rebirth, by familiarizing oneself with emptiness, one will have no attachment to all dharmas, and one will obtain mindfulness in all virtues. With non-deceit, one will obtain mindfulness, with attention, one will obtain wisdom, with respect, one will possess understanding of meaning, by protecting the Dharma, one will become wise. By listening to the Dharma and giving alms, without obscuration, one will be in the company of the Buddhas, and one will quickly attain what one desires. By non-attachment, one will accomplish meaning, by non-stinginess, enjoyment will increase, by non-pride, one will become the chief, by patience in the Dharma, one will obtain dharani. By giving the five essences, and giving fearlessness to those who are afraid, all demons will not be able to harm, and one will obtain the supreme of great power. By offering garlands of lamps to stupas, and offering lamps in dark places, and giving butter lamps and sesame oil lamps, one will obtain the eyes of the gods. By offering musical instruments to stupas, and offering bells and other things, and offering drums and conches very well, one will obtain the ears of the gods. Not speaking of the faults of others, and not speaking of those with defective limbs, because the mind is guarded and follows, one will obtain the knowledge of the minds of others. By giving shoes and mounts, and treating the weak with respect, and by respecting the lama with a mount, the wise will obtain miraculous powers. For the sake of the Dharma and likewise, remembering the meaning of scriptures, and by giving the Dharma without defilement, one will obtain the ability to remember past lives. Because all things are without inherent existence, and one knows and understands them as they truly are, one will obtain the six superknowledges and the supreme of the exhaustion of all defilements.
