Now, it has been said, "Just so," "Having differences," and "Precious human body." These also, in order, are: not knowing good and evil, not practicing Dharma; even if the senses are complete, it is an ordinary human body; even if born in the central region, it is a barbarian of the borderlands. Thus it is taught. In the Sutra of the Jewel Sky, it says: Those who, due to the causes of past virtues, are reborn in the human world, and whose senses are also completely intact, and who are born in a region where Dharma is constantly practiced, yet do not know karma and the ripening of karma, and rely heavily on and practice the path of non-virtue, although they are said to have become human, they are the lowest, because after death they will fall into endless suffering. So forth. "Second, explaining the human body with differences." It is also said: Not entering the teachings, mixing good and evil; pursuing this life, the mind is distracted by busyness; not guarding body, speech, and mind, being frivolous and putting the next life far away; not seeking liberation, even if those people hear the Dharma, they are not a supreme body, but of intermediate nature, sometimes slightly inclined to virtue, but mostly the mind's eye is covered by sin, merely grasping at some superficial things, what benefit is there to oneself and others? Even if those people take the form of householders or renunciates, they are only slightly superior to the evil realms, so the Buddhas say that this is a human body with differences. As it is said, in the Sutra of the Jewel Sky, it says: In the realm of sentient beings, those who do not enter these Dharmas, or even if they do, practice good and evil mixed together, and take worldly affairs and distractions as important, whose body, speech, and mind are not disciplined and are frivolous, are those who fall into the three evil realms and are inclined to evil realms, yet, illuminated by the sunlight of the Buddha's compassion, after a long time they possess the seed of liberation, therefore they are called human bodies with differences. That is to say, practicing good and evil mixed together, and only valuing hearing words, cannot save one from the evil realms. In the Samadhiraja Sutra, it says: One who breaks vows will fall into the evil realms, and no amount of hearing can save him. And in the Nirvana Sutra, it says: Light Protector, even if the bhikshu Sunaksatra heard and held as much as carrying the burden of an elephant of many sutras, due to the power of non-virtue, he still had to fall into the evil realms.

From the Sutra of Pairs: In the Medicine Section, no matter how beings wail and cry out at the time of death, there is no other way to save them except for the ripening of the fruits of well-performed deeds. The Tathagata appears, and having heard the sound of striking the ghanta, they have not heard the Dharma teaching of going to peaceful Nirvana. Then, that person spoke again: "My mind has become like a child's, and having fallen under the influence of evil friends, driven by a mind deluded by desire, I have committed sinful deeds. Indulging in desires, I have killed living beings, wasted the property of the Sangha, and am experiencing the unbearable consequences of that. With a mind intent on harming, I have destroyed stupas, spoken harsh words, and even struck my mother. Whatever I have done with my body, I know full well that they are misdeeds. I have seen the cries of the great scorching hell and the extremely terrifying births." Thus it is said. Third, explaining the preciousness of human life: The third aspect is that the most excellent person is an immaculate vessel of Dharma, skilled in the essence of hearing and contemplation, subduing oneself and guiding others to virtue, and is an unshakable mountain king of practice. All those banners of ascetics, whether in the simple form of householders or renunciants, are said to demonstrate the preciousness of human life. Therefore, hearing, contemplating, and abiding in yoga, subduing one's own mind, encouraging others to virtue, and donning the great armor of liberation is the great banner of ascetics, and not merely the appearance of ascetics in clothing. Such diligence and encouragement to virtue, whether residing as a householder or in the form of a renunciant, is called a precious human life. As it says in the Glorious Secret Sutra: Glorious Secret, here, one hears through much hearing, contemplates its meaning, abides in yoga through meditation without afflictions, and also encourages others to do so, then in the world with gods, this is the most beautiful, and it is a leisure and endowment that is meaningful.
