Ignorance is darkness, and complete purity is light. Afflictions are weak, and insight is powerful. Afflictions are sudden, and naturally pure is the root, and so on. Therefore, this realm is pure from the beginning because it is without defilement, it is the true self because it is without change, it is permanent because it exists at all times, and even if it falls into the cycle of all sufferings, it is not overwhelmed by suffering, and it has reached the other shore of bliss. As the Ratnagotravibhāga says: Purity, self, bliss, and permanence, the result is the perfection of qualities. Thus it is said. The tathāgatagarbha pervades all sentient beings. In the Ornament of the Sutras, it also says: Just as space is always desired to pervade everything, so it is also desired to pervade everything. Just as space pervades all forms, so it also pervades all sentient beings. Thus it is said. Therefore, although this essence is obscured by afflictions, it is not defiled by afflictions, just like the sun dwelling in the clouds. Even when one is enlightened from the beginning, it remains inseparable. In the commentary on the Ratnagotravibhāga, it says: The tathāgatagarbha, these three states are all pervasive, but they are based on the meaning that they are not changed by afflictions and purification. The three states are: In the Ratnagotravibhāga it says: Impure, impure-pure, and extremely pure, in order, sentient beings, bodhisattvas, and thus gone ones are called. Therefore, impure is the state of sentient beings, impure-pure is the bodhisattva, and extremely pure is the state of the Buddha. So, how is the lineage? Such a metaphor cannot be found without omission and completely identical. Therefore, the metaphor that shows the same as the Tathagata is: In that it says: Because it transcends the world, in the world, no metaphor can be found for this. Therefore, it is shown that the Tathagata and the realm are the same. Thus it is said. That is not exactly the same, because the essence is one, and the states are different, so even if nine metaphors are spoken, they can only express a part. So, who can truly see such a lineage? Beings who cannot see the reality, those who are held by virtuous friends, and śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas.

Believing in the Great Vehicle of the Pratyekabuddhas, and the Bodhisattvas abiding on the Bhumis realize the general meaning through faith, while Bodhisattvas abiding on the ten Bhumis realize only a part. The reality as it is, is not seen by others except the Buddha himself. As it is said in the commentary of the Uttaratantra: Like the sun in the clear sky above the clouds, here you have partial wisdom. Even the noble ones with pure eyes of wisdom do not fully see everything. Bhagavan, your Dharmakaya is pure, your wisdom is boundless, and your knowledge is endless, pervading the sky; only they can see everything. So it is said. That realm or essence is where the three Kayas of one's own mind, together with wisdom, abide in the mandala of adornment in the pure land. Seeing it as it is, one becomes a Buddha, therefore these texts should be taught. On the path of learning, one illuminates generally with faith. As it is said in the previous text: The ultimate truth of self-arisen wisdom is to be realized only through faith. The sun's disc blazes with light, but the eyeless cannot see it. So it is said. In the Sutra of the Buddha-nature, it is said that one does not realize everything from just one aspect. As it is said: Neither ordinary beings, nor Shravakas, nor Pratyekabuddhas, nor Bodhisattvas see the Buddha-nature as it is. For example, if a blind person asks another about the color of butter, and he says, 'It is like snow.' When he touches the snow with his hand, he perceives the color of butter as cold. He says, 'It is like a swan's wing.' Hearing the sound of a swan's wing, he perceives the color of snow as noisy. He asks, 'What is the color of the wing?' He replies, 'It is like a conch.' Touching the conch, he finds it smooth, and so he perceives it as smooth. No matter what he says, the blind person cannot know the color as it is. Likewise, it is very difficult to see the Buddha-nature. It is also said that it is difficult for ordinary beings to realize. In that same text, it is said: A king gathered many blind people and showed them an elephant, and instructed them to describe the characteristics of the elephant individually. Those who touched the elephant's trunk said, 'It is like a hook.' Those who touched the eyes said, 'It is like a bowl.' Those who touched the ears said, 'It is like a winnowing basket.' Those who touched the back said,
