Thus to act. The great sage, with his all-knowing eyes, seeing this nature realm as like honey, completely eliminates its obscuration, which is like a bee. Thus it is said. Third, the nature of ignorance as latent, the example of the essence residing within the husk: Just as the essence of grain with husks is not used by people, whoever seeks the meaning of food etc., they extract it from the husk. Likewise, the defilements of sentient beings, mixed with impurities, as long as they are not liberated from the defilements and impurities, even if they become kings, they do not act in the three realms. Thus it is said. Fourth, the nature of intense arising of desire, hatred, and ignorance, the example of the essence residing within the husk of manifest afflictions: Just as extremely precious gold falls into a place of rotten filth, the indestructible dharma nature, thus in that place, residing for many hundreds of years, a god with pure divine eyes, seeing it there, says to the person: Here there is gold, This supreme jewel, refine it and accomplish the attainment of jewels. Likewise, the Thubpa (Buddha) sees the qualities of sentient beings immersed in impure afflictions, and in order to purify the mud of afflictions, he rains down the rain of the true dharma upon beings. Thus it is said. One example of the realm residing within the husk of the habitual tendencies of ignorance for the Arhats of Hearers and Solitary Realizers: Just as in the house of a poor person, under the ground, there is an inexhaustible treasure, but that person does not know it, and the treasure does not say to him: I am here. Likewise, the treasure of jewels contained within the mind, the stainless basis and the inalienable dharma nature, because they are not realized, the suffering of poverty is constantly experienced by beings in various ways. Thus it is said. The first of two examples of the essence residing within the husk of what is to be abandoned by seeing: Just as on fruit trees such as myrobalan, there is the seed, the sprout, the indestructible dharma, endowed with plowing, water, etc., gradually accomplishing the object of the king of trees. Likewise, the dharma realm of virtue contained within the skin husk of the fruits of ignorance, etc., of sentient beings, likewise, virtue

Therefore, relying on it, one gradually transforms into the substance of the King of Conquerors. That's it. The second example is: Like the body of the Victorious One made of precious jewels, covered by tattered clothes and foul odors, the passing gods see it and, for the sake of liberation, speak to it like a passerby. Similarly, the Tathagata's essence, obscured by countless forms of afflictions since beginningless time, is regarded even in beings like animals. To liberate them, skillful means are shown. That's it. Among the impurities to be abandoned through meditation, the glory of the Dharma realm's goodness resides, and there are two aspects to this. The first is: Like an ugly, destitute woman dwelling in a helpless place, yet carrying the splendor of a king in her womb, unaware of what she carries within her own belly. Existence in samsara is like a helpless home, and impure sentient beings are like pregnant women. What is it that, when present, provides them with refuge? The stainless realm is like being within her womb. That's it. The second example is: Like the shape of molten gold growing inside, tranquility is the nature of externalists. Those who see and understand it purify the outer obscurations to refine the inner gold. The naturally radiant light, and also the impurities, are suddenly seen. For beings like treasure troves, the supreme enlightenment purifies them from obscurations. That's it. The nine impurities of those bases are also mentioned therein: Attachment, hatred, delusion, and the intensely arising habitual tendencies, those abandoned on the paths of seeing and meditation, and those based on impure and pure grounds. The nine impurities are shown through examples such as the lotus's stamen, and the distinctions of the proximate afflictions' stamen are beyond countless numbers. That's it. The locations of these are also: These impurities make children, as well as Arhats, learners, and wise ones, impure in order with four, one, two, and two respectively. That's it. The examples and meanings of the impurities and their locations are also combined: Therein it is said: Just as a lotus grows from mud, it is delightful when it is in front, and there is no delight when it is behind, so is the delight of desire. Just as a living creature, a bee, is very agitated and stings like a spear, similarly, when hatred arises, it creates suffering in the heart. Just as the essence of fruits and the like
