Everything is completely liberated and empty from all things. From the Dense Array Sutra: The clear moon mandala, Always stainless and completely full, Due to the power of the seasons, in the world, The moon is perceived as waxing and waning. Likewise, the ultimate Alaya, Always possessing the Tathagatagarbha, That essence is taught by the Tathagatas, With the name of Alaya. Those children who do not understand that essence, Due to the power of habit, also in the Alaya, See various pleasures and sufferings, And karmas and all kinds of afflictions. Its nature is pure and without stain, Its qualities are like a wish-fulfilling jewel, It does not move and does not change, Thus, fully understanding, one is liberated. Thus it is said. Maitreya says: In this, there is nothing to be removed, Nor is there anything to be added, Look at reality as it is, Seeing reality, one is liberated. The synonyms for this are: The Alaya that combines meaning, The beginningless good Dharmadhatu, The Tathagatagarbha, Dhatu, The self-nature of mind is clear light, Dharmadhatu, The meaning of suchness, The Suchness that is naturally pure, Prajnaparamita, and so on. The names established from the aspects of basis, source, and cause of separation are inconceivable. Moreover, from the aspect of the mind itself relying on the habits of samsara, it is called the Alaya of various habits. Why? Because it is the basis for good, non-good, liberation, and purification, which are not originally in its nature, but are suddenly produced, and so on. That is also the basis for both good and non-good, and because its essence is ignorance, it is unpredetermined. Some say that this is not ignorance, because it is the basis for all five poisons, and also the basis for purification, but this statement is merely an expression of misunderstanding. Why? It is not the ignorance divided into the five poisons, but the ignorance that arises together when first deluded in samsara is designated as ignorance. It is also necessary to examine whether it is the basis for purification, the twofold purity of being pure from the beginning and being pure from all sudden defilements, it is not the basis for both the wisdom and essence of the Buddha, because the Alaya needs to be transformed.

So it is. As it is said, in the Sutra of Golden Light, "The transformation of the basis of all is the Dharmakaya of Suchness," and in the Sutra of the Exhaustion of the Four Elements, "The purity of the basis of all is the Dharmadhatu." It is not the support of the realm, but the cause or support that comes back from being separated from the defilement itself. Therefore, conditioned phenomena, transformed from the accumulation of merit and wisdom, only act as a basis for complete purification. This itself is included in the Truth of the Path, and is regarded as deceptive and impermanent, which is also the answer because it relies on the basis of all, the various habitual tendencies. Regarding this principle, how can it be reasonable to harm it if one relies on it? It is like this: just as a lamp relying on a tree burns itself, and a fire relying on firewood burns itself, etc., relying on the basis of all, through the path of the two accumulations, one's own habitual tendencies of samsara are purified, and the defilements of lineage or realm are removed, and as it was originally abiding, enlightenment is manifested, so it is called the purification of conditions. From the outside, the antidote of the practitioner itself is also burned, because conceptualization is virtuous. As it is said, in the commentary on the Uttaratantra, "Starting from the state of manifest enlightenment, in order to reverse all the Truths of the Path." And in the Entering the Middle Way, "Having burned all the dry firewood of knowable objects and pacified, that is the Dharmakaya of the Victorious Ones." And so on, it is taught. If that is the case, how can it be said that there is emptiness that cannot be abandoned, and that there are thirty-seven factors of enlightenment? The unabandonable and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment are included in the Buddha Ground, but they are not included in the Path, because it is the state of the completion of the Path. Regarding this, there are different names: co-emergent ignorance, the basis of all the various habitual tendencies, beginningless and endless obscurations, great darkness, primordial unawareness, and so on. That is to say, the nature of mind is like space, from the beginningless realm, relying on liberation, activity arises, and relying on samsara, various habitual tendencies arise, and it is explained that the appearances of samsara and nirvana are different, with happiness and suffering, and faults and virtues arising. Commentary on the Uttaratantra.

RA. The realm of time without beginning or end, the basis of all dharmas, because of this, all beings and nirvana can be attained. Thus it is quoted. Now, the difference between Alaya consciousness and the eight consciousnesses: The Alaya consciousness of various habits, which is non-indicative, is like a mirror; the consciousness of Alaya is like the clarity of a mirror; the five sense consciousnesses are like the appearance of images. Among them, the first to discern things with reason, or to the appearing object of the five senses, the first to appear "what is this" is the mind consciousness; after that, the appearance of attachment, aversion, and indifference to the object is the afflicted mind. If the afflicted mind does not discern, then the six consciousnesses will not create karma, because it is not mixed with any of the three poisons. The previous teachers said that this also needs to be examined. After understanding the nature of all dharmas, it is like this in the stages of view, meditation, and practice. For beings who do not turn towards such wisdom, because they are in ignorance, they will create non-virtuous karma. The door of creating karma is the root of the mind and the root of the five senses, as well as the support. The creators are the afflicted mind, the virtuous mind, and the neutral consciousness. Where does it create? It creates on the Alaya consciousness. What opens up their growth, creation, and reduction is the consciousness of Alaya. Thus, in the great commentary on the Ornament of the Sutras, written by the teacher Firm Wisdom, it says: The mind and the five senses such as the eye are the doors of karma, and are the supports for entering. The virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral minds are the agents. The six objects such as form are the objects. The Alaya consciousness is the opener. The Alaya consciousness is like a support, a place, and a house. The consciousness of Alaya is the clarity of consciousness, and it is the part that does not grasp any object or subject. Among the five sense consciousnesses that arise from it, the eye consciousness is the knowing of form, not giving rise to discrimination, and is the part of knowing appearance. Similarly, the ear knows sound, the nose knows smell, the tongue knows taste, and the body knows touch, all of which are knowing objects, not giving rise to discrimination, and are the part of knowing appearance. The five senses
