Through the interconnected virtue, may all beings in the three realms, who are impoverished and weary in this beginningless cycle of existence due to a lack of virtuous accumulations, "attain the sacred wealth of the noble ones, becoming prosperous and refreshed!" May those scorched by the fires of hell and other realms, be cooled by the gently flowing waters of the gods, their faces adorned with the light of jeweled necklaces, and may they be reborn in the heavenly realms, attaining enlightenment! Likewise, may pretas, animals, asuras, and those with equal fortune as humans and gods, obtain the joy of the heavenly cities, and realize the peaceful, stainless enlightenment! May the gods of meditative absorption practice virtuous Dharma, and may the four formless realms also awaken to perfect tranquility. Through the complete perfection of merit and wisdom, may they attain the state of the protector Amitabha! May this pure intention of mine lead beings to pacify the assemblies of existence, and by striving day and night, may I accomplish the two benefits, attaining the protector's immeasurable names and signs! This concludes the commentary on the third chapter, "The Suffering of Samsara," from the Great Perfection: Resting the Mind in its Natural State. The fourth chapter, "The Law of Cause and Effect," has four parts: a brief statement of the essence, a detailed explanation of its nature, a conclusion, and a dedication of the merit of the occasion. The first general meaning, the brief statement of the essence, is as follows: Thus, when wandering in the suffering existence, what is the cause of the different experiences of happiness and suffering that appear to each individual? To explain this, it is said that they arise from karma. Thus, the Buddha taught that the highs and lows of happiness and suffering in existence arise from the karma accumulated in the past. As stated, the different circumstances of each being create different karmas, and the results of these karmas ripen into different places, resources, and experiences of happiness and suffering. As the Hundred Karmas states: Emaho! The world is born from karma, happiness and suffering are written by karma. When circumstances gather, karma arises, and karma creates happiness and suffering. It also says: Karmas, even after hundreds of eons, will not be wasted or lost. When the conditions and time are right, they will ripen into results for sentient beings. And as the White Lotus Sutra says: Karma is like a painter who can paint everything, karma is like a dancer who is skilled in all kinds of performances. And as the Collection of Bodhisattva Resources says: The three kinds of afflictions

Having and not having." "Accumulate the deeds of merit and liberation, follow and accomplish them. Mind is for karma, karma is for action, because the causes and conditions are the same. The creation of karma is also like a great seed." etc. "The second general meaning, explaining the nature in detail, is divided into two: accomplishing existence and joining with peace. Accomplishing existence is also divided into three: brief instruction, detailed explanation, and reversing from this principle. The first is: "What is it? Among the two karmas of accomplishing existence and joining with peace, the first aspect, the karma of fabrication in samsara, has two kinds, black and white, which are the nature of ten good and ten non-virtuous deeds." It means that existence is accomplished by the ten non-virtuous deeds and the ten virtuous deeds corresponding to merit. What is it? In the Garland of Jewels, it says: "Not killing, abandoning stealing, abandoning the wives of others, false speech, divisive speech, harsh speech, meaningless speech completely abandoned, without greed and without harmful thoughts, completely abandoning one's own wrong views, these are the ten white paths of karma, and the reverse is the black karma." etc. Non-virtuous deeds produce evil destinies and suffering, and virtuous deeds obtain heavenly realms and happy migrations, as it says in the Sutra on Mindfulness: "Non-virtuous deeds obtain evil destinies and suffering, and virtuous deeds obtain happiness and heavenly realms." etc. Furthermore, in the Sutra on the Differentiation of Karma, it says: The son of the householder Tota, the Brahmin boy Netso, asked: Venerable Gautama, by what causes and conditions do beings have differences such as short life, long life, much sickness, little sickness, ugly appearance, beautiful appearance, great power, small power, noble birth, low birth, great enjoyment, small enjoyment, great wisdom, and small wisdom? The Blessed One replied: Brahmin boy, beings are born from karma, enjoy the fruits of karma, have karma as their birthplace, and rely on karma. Therefore, there are differences such as inferior, superior, medium, noble, low, evil, and good. The karma of beings is various, the views are various, and the behaviors are various. Black karma causes beings to be born in hell, among the pretas, and among the animals. White karma causes beings to be born among gods and humans." etc.
