If you say it's the same as..., it's not the same. Because the Particularists (Vaisheshika) assert that objects are established as self-characterized, but we say that like habits, illusions, and dreams, they don't actually exist, but appear in the mind. This way, even the Madhyamikas cannot deny it, and it is reasonable. If you ask: What assertions do the Madhyamika Prasangikas refute? Answer: It is not refuting the mere appearance itself, but refuting the attachment to reality. As the teacher Nagarjuna said: "It is not refuting such an appearance, but it is to reverse the thought of reality." Moreover, the Mind-Only True Aspectarians assert that phenomena are mind, and both the true and false assert that self-awareness is established in the ultimate sense, these are refuted. How could we refute the appearance of habits and illusions, which appear without actually existing, and the established distinctions that conform to reality? Because when making conventional distinctions, the two are consistent. Therefore, external other-dependence, and the appearance of later consciousness arising from earlier consciousness, is also called other-dependence because it relies on other earlier meanings. Applying these to the inner also needs to be examined. If you establish it by the appearance of before and after, it is only a name, but in reality it is the same, so it is consistent. If you think it is other, because it is consciousness, it has not established the nature of otherness, so it is not good to contradict the assertion. As it is said: "Such various appearances, because the types are the same in other places, the impure object and subject are other-dependent, and purity is also other-dependent, although it does not become independent, but it is said to appear as other." Thus it is said. The perfectly established also has immutability and non-inversion. Among them, the immutable perfectly established is: whether in delusion or not, it has the nature of self-purification, the emptiness that is inherent in its nature, existing without difference between before and after, called the immutable perfectly established, which is the reality of the nature. In this regard, emptiness is also established in three ways: emptiness of self, emptiness of other, and emptiness of both. Emptiness of self refers to the fact that, like the moon in water, it appears without actually existing, abandoning its own nature, and without distinguishing parts of self and other, yet not abandoning the spontaneously accomplished Dharma, therefore it is established as emptiness of self. Emptiness of other is also, the non-existent emptiness of other and types.

Emptiness by other. In the case of being empty by both, there is emptiness by both including nominal emptiness and emptiness by sound and meaning's own characteristic. Among them, the luminous nature of the mind, the essence of the heart's essence, is empty of all faults, possessing the characteristics of qualities, and from the perspective of the purity of essence, it transcends the establishment and refutation of faults and qualities. The various red and white defiled dharmas that appear as illusions, and the all-pervasive thoughts or the eight aggregates of consciousness, these are empty of their own nature because they do not exist in their essence, and they are also empty in terms of names, like pillars and vases, and they possess faults. From the perspective of the purity of essence, it transcends the establishment and refutation of faults and qualities. Paths are also empty of their own nature, possessing some qualities and faults, and from the perspective of the purity of essence, they transcend faults and qualities. At the time of ultimate purity, all faults and habitual tendencies of wrongdoing are empty, and all the qualities of the essence are manifested ultimately and are not empty, and from the perspective of the purity of essence, it transcends the establishment and refutation of faults and qualities. In short, emptiness by self means that whatever dharma it is, it does not have a true nature. If divided, there are two: emptiness by characteristic's own nature means that there is no characteristic in anything, like a rabbit's horn, and emptiness like a water moon, which appears in illusion but does not exist in essence or meaning. Emptiness by examination's own nature refers to all things that are named with names, words, and letters, which are merely constructs of the mind, and apart from that, there is no self-characteristic of that thing, such as naming a child a lion, the sound of the name is a lion, and the meaning is having a mane, etc. The sound and meaning of the name do not exist anywhere on the child's body, but because the meaning to be expressed can be expressed from the name that can express it, although it is emptiness, all things that can function are given names. Emptiness by other refers to naming from the perspective that the dharma does not have other dharmas. If divided, there are two: non-corresponding emptiness by other refers to the fact that the sun does not have darkness, or all other dharmas that are the self-characteristics of the meaning of dharmas that do not exist in the sun, such as pillars and cloths. Nominal emptiness by other refers to the fact that names such as the sun, the illuminator, and the seven horses are generally given, and all the differences in realms and metaphors do not touch the self-characteristic of the meaning of the sun, so it is emptiness.
