Not refuge. Neither retinues of relatives nor wealth nor youth. These are the refuges of those who are drowning in samsara." "I gave up my body with joy, Tathagata. Likewise, I also gave up life and possessions. There is no refuge other than the Three Jewels." "Pa. There are no sentient beings here for her refuge." Thus it is said. "Tenth, impermanence of the three times is:" Thus, thinking about the place of samsara, and one's own continuum, and the limits of others, is also impermanent. Thus, think about the continuity of the world before and after. Countless beings of the past have passed away, and most of the beings on the earth now will surely be impermanent within a hundred years, and those of the future will also follow that way. Look at the old and young who have passed away equally. Since I have not transcended that nature, think of death as certain and accumulate Dharma. Alas, fair-faced ones. Think about the changes in the external appearance. Look at the bodies of people who were more than a hundred years ago. Most of us who have become human beings now will have only names after a hundred years. The beings of the future will also be the same, because there is no one who was born before who has not died. Therefore, in each of their own ages, many enemies and relatives who are older than themselves, and younger, and equal, have passed away, and one must think that one is surely of such a nature. It is said in the collection of special statements: From just which night, the person who first enters the womb, he will perish without increase, and what has passed cannot be undone." "In the morning many people are seen, in the afternoon some are not seen. In the afternoon many people are seen, in the morning some are not seen. Many men and women, even if they are in their prime, will die, and to say that this person is young, what confidence is there in being alive? Some die in the womb, likewise some at birth, some when they are just staggering, likewise some when they are running around, some old and some young, some who are in their prime, gradually perish, like ripe fruit falling." Thus it is said. "Eleventh, the impermanence of the three realms is:" "Furthermore, like this, from the three hells to the peak of existence, there is no one who can overcome the Lord of Death, ah.

Everything is impermanent, changing, and without essence. It is untrustworthy, like the turning of a chariot wheel. Especially the human world is full of harm, being the source of many misfortunes such as diseases and evil spirits. Swords, flames, cliffs, wild beasts, poisons, kings, enemies, thieves, and so on, destroy life and ruin prosperity. Furthermore, no matter where sentient beings of the six realms are, there is not a single place that can stop death. Therefore, it should be contemplated that all sentient beings of the three realms and six classes cannot escape death. As the Vinaya Sutra says: Wherever one dwells, there is no place that can stop death. It does not exist in the sky, nor in the ocean, nor even if one enters the crevices of Mount Sumeru. Thus, no matter where one dies, it is only the abandonment of the physical body. This mind will still wander in many cycles due to past karma. As the Extensive Play Sutra says: Driven by the power of ignorance, beings in samsara, in the three paths of humans, gods, and evil destinies, in the five realms, the unwise ones wander unceasingly, like the potter's wheel turning without stop. Always craving beautiful forms, pleasant sounds, fragrant smells, sweet tastes, and comfortable sensations, these beings fall into evil traps, like monkeys caught in the hunter's snare. Among these, especially the human world is full of harm, such as diseases like leprosy, plagues, wind disorders, and bile disorders, and many evil spirits like birds, flesh-eating demons, dakinis, and obstacles. Hundreds of harms such as kings, enemies, barbarians, and robbers, attack the power of beings as well as body and life, therefore, do not be lazy, but diligently practice the supreme Dharma. As it is said in "Gathering the Jewel of Merit": The human world is full of demons, ghosts, and diseases. May it be pacified by the blessing of the truth possessed by compassion and love. Twelfth, momentary impermanence: Like this, if there is harm, there will be death, not only that, Like this, even without harm, the life of beings is passing away. Day and night change ceaselessly in an instant, The lord of death is also constantly approaching. Like all the rivers flowing into the ocean, Like the sun setting on the western mountain. Like this, in one's lifetime, I
