Also, the nine successive absorptions, by practicing the skill of sudden transcendence in order and non-order, one knows the karma of oneself and others in past and future lives, as well as whatever is the realm of activity of the mind, and even though death, migration, and birth are obstructed by obscurations, one can see them. One can manifest as one and many, and display various magical powers. Without afflictions, one knows everything as it is. One can see the pure lands filled with the sons of the Buddhas. At that time, because of thoroughly understanding appearances as illusion, in order to completely pacify the suffering and confusion of the mind with the illusion-like samadhi itself, there is the samadhi like a spotless moon, and the state of all phenomena being unapprehendable, equal, and of one taste, like the samadhi that is unobstructed like space, etc. Hundreds of thousands of countless samadhis will be accomplished. The meaning of thoroughly understanding with superior insight, in order to focus single-pointedly with noble quiescence, the union of retention and samadhi is spontaneously accomplished. Liberation comes from traversing the stages of the five paths. In the small stage of the path of accumulation, one meditates on the four mindfulnesses of body, feeling, mind, and phenomena. In the intermediate stage, one abandons the four attachments to virtue and non-virtue with the four right exertions of aspiration and effort. In the great stage, one meditates on the four legs of miraculous power, which are the basis for accomplishing miraculous abilities, with the four of aspiration, mind, investigation, and mindfulness. There are four paths of preparation, namely the stages of heat and peak, the five faculties of faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom, as well as the stages of patience and the supreme mundane dharma, one cultivates the five powers of faith, etc. The path of seeing, namely the extremely joyful ground, rejoices in faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom. Extremely habituated, the seven branches of perfect enlightenment are well cultivated. The path of meditation has three stages: small, intermediate, and large, each further divided into small of small, small of intermediate, and small of large, etc., in the nine grounds in order. In the grounds of stainless, luminous, and radiant, difficult to train, manifest, far-gone, and immovable, in the grounds of good intelligence and clouds of dharma, there are right view, right thought, as well as right action, right livelihood, right mindfulness, and right concentration, the eightfold noble path. Thus, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, at the end of practicing on the four paths of learning, one enters nirvana without abiding in the ground of no-more-learning. Thus, without traversing the grounds and paths, such a Buddha will never appear. Countless eons and countless lifetimes are liberated, and all of them are through this path.

Therefore, those who have entered any cause-and-effect vehicle should proceed knowing the grounds and paths. Thus, may the essence of profound peace and clear light thoroughly pacify the defilements of the minds of all beings, and may the mind, long exhausted by attachment to this world and by death, find rest today. From "The Great Perfection, Mind at Rest," the eleventh chapter is about the union of calm abiding and insight, the path of stainless contemplation. Thus, the cause for accomplishing the union of contemplation is to train in the three branches of unwavering samadhi: what to accomplish as a branch of ritual, how to accomplish as a branch of method, and non-dual accomplishment as a branch of essence. The person "by whom" to accomplish is one with renunciation, whose body is distanced from the bustling city and whose mind is distanced from the collection of elaborations. For such a person, this samadhi is quickly accomplished. One who is faithful, knows shame, is conscientious, careful, pure in discipline, delights in virtue, is learned, has few desires, and is content—this samadhi is quickly accomplished. Restraining body and mind, delighting in dwelling in solitude, abandoning sleep, laziness, and delight in idle talk, being without excitement or regret, and having little interaction with others—this samadhi is quickly accomplished. Without the bustle of cities and suburbs, without attachment to many supports in places and monasteries, without the busyness of various things and activities—this samadhi is quickly accomplished. Not for the sake of happiness in this life or the fruit of happiness in future lives, nor for one's own peace, but for the sake of benefiting beings, desiring liberation from samsara, having renunciation and weariness—this supreme samadhi is quickly accomplished. The branch of method, "how to accomplish," is to abandon the five obscurations of sleep, drowsiness, excitement, regret, and doubt, and to practice in a way that calm abiding and insight complement each other. Sleep and drowsiness greatly obscure calm abiding. Excitement and regret completely distract insight. Doubt is the enemy of both, an opposing factor. Thus, the five are summarized into sinking and excitement. When sinking, arouse; when excited, meditate one-pointedly. Insight without calm abiding is excitement with elaboration. Calm abiding without insight is neutral. Union is the antidote to obscuration, the supreme path. Calm abiding is relaxing body, speech, mind, and heart with
