Three and, seven and three attain liberation, the Sutra says that it is the order of faculties. All the sons of the Buddhas should learn, mainly they should learn the six perfections. Seeing beings afflicted by poverty, giving food, clothing, horses, carts, elephants, etc., and all necessities, immeasurable giving, even giving sons and daughters, etc. Giving heads and eyes, etc., is very important, benefiting others with wealth and Dharma. Thus, one can destroy one's own stinginess and increase the wealth of others. With higher discipline, tame the mind, with the mind cultivate peaceful virtue, with wisdom attain the perfection of the two benefits. Guarding vows, accumulating Dharma, benefiting beings, the sons of the Buddhas should always guard the three disciplines. Lay people take the vows of a layperson, the vows of a near-dweller, the vows of aspiration, etc., ordained people take the vows of a monk, a novice, and a novice nun, etc., above all vows, guarding the two Bodhicittas is discipline. Regarding various internal and external harms and sufferings, do not mind them, contemplate the Dharma with compassion. One should also cultivate the three kinds of forbearance, such as causeless forbearance. There is no sin greater than hatred, and there is no austerity or merit comparable to patience. Therefore, one should diligently practice patience in various ways, and strive to extinguish the raging fire of hatred. The objects of harm are numerous and untamed, and it is impossible to tame them one by one. Taming one mind tames all. Therefore, strive to guard the asceticism of taming the mind. Relying on harm, one can accomplish the goodness of patience, and generate qualities such as compassion and loving-kindness. Treat enemies as the Buddha, becoming friends of Bodhi, and approach patience with respect and joy. Furthermore, if there is no self-nature, it will not arise, and they are interdependent like cliffs. The multitude of harms caused by oneself are caused by temporary causes and past karma. This is bound to happen, and in order to exhaust karma, one must persevere in taming one's mind. Do not be displeased when unpleasant things happen. If it can be remedied, why be displeased? If it cannot be remedied, what is the use of being displeased? Therefore, one should strive to be patient with all circumstances. If one examines, all phenomena are empty in nature like the sky, so where does joy and displeasure come from?
