The clouds of blessings from the lineage have not dissipated, Rely on such a wise and accomplished, glorious lama. Whose qualities are extremely limitless, Becoming a friend to beings, I praise a fraction: Crossing the ocean of existence is like a great ship's rudder, He is the supreme guide for those who have entered the path. Dispelling adversity is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, It is the nectar water that extinguishes the fire of karma and afflictions. Bestowing the cool rain of Dharma is like a good rain cloud, It is the drum of the gods that brings joy to all beings. Curing the disease of the three poisons is like the king of doctors, It is the great lamp that dispels the darkness of ignorance. The source of happiness for beings is like a great wish-fulfilling tree, It is a good, precious vase that spontaneously fulfills all desires. Great love is like the immeasurable rays of the sun, It is the moon that dispels suffering, with white light of benefit and happiness. The expanse of his mind is like the immaculate sky, The clear light of samadhi is like the spontaneous perfection of planets and stars. The nature of his wisdom and compassion is like an immeasurable ocean, The great waves of his compassion move like rivers. Unwavering from distraction, he is like the glory of a snow mountain, Supremely unmoving, he is like the king of mountains, Mount Meru. Unstained by existence, he is like a lotus born from the mud, With equanimity towards all, he is like loving parents. His qualities are limitless, like a treasure of jewels, Leading the world, he is like the lord of the victorious ones. Such a lama, the glorious lord of Dharma, Wherever he resides is no different from all the Buddhas. Seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching him reverses samsara, His vast activities and great burdens are immeasurable, Like the earth, he is the support of all beings. The fourth jewel is the lama Buddha, The lord of the mandala, the glorious Heruka himself. In this degenerate age, he acts for the sake of taming difficult beings, For those to be tamed, he is superior to all Buddhas. The root of accomplishment is the Vajra Master, I rely on him with the three doors, unfeigned and pure, at the crown of my head. They block the path of the lower realms, Erect the ladder to the higher realms, benefiting and bringing happiness in this life and the next. He shows the true meaning, blesses the mind stream, Because in this life he places us on the path of ripening and liberation, With constant, stable, and unwavering faith, I rely on him at all times without weariness. Just as a sick person relies on the king of doctors, The people rely on the king, the traveler relies on the guide, The merchant relies on the helmsman, the accomplished one relies on a friend, The blazing of afflictions

To be free from all faults and harmless, to be auspicious and fearless, to fulfill the two benefits and cross the ocean of existence, one should rely on the Lama. The Lama is like a doctor, the instructions are like medicine, one should regard oneself as a patient, and diligently strive like taking medicine, just like obtaining the result of peace and freedom from the suffering of illness. Other ways of relying on the Lama can be inferred from this method, and one should rely on the Lama with four pure thoughts. Otherwise, a student with bad karma is the basis of all faults, lacking faith, shame, and embarrassment, with little compassion, with bad lineage, nature, and behavior, with coarse mind, karma, and five poisons of afflictions, confused about Dharma and non-Dharma, good and evil, and precepts, not keeping vows and commitments, without remedies, extremely ignorant, with little wisdom and difficult to satisfy, and with increasing anger and harsh words, those people regard the Lama as prey, regard the Dharma as wages, regard themselves as hunters diligently shooting arrows, and regard the result of accomplishing the Dharma as selling it elsewhere. Relying on the Lama with five wrong views, one will obtain suffering in this life and the next because of not having vows. Some people enter rashly without examining at the beginning, praising the virtues when newly learning, and then slandering later. Some people act with mixed minds, acting hypocritically and deceitfully, and secretly slandering the Lama and attendants. The result of those people is the Avici hell. A student with good fortune has great faith and wisdom, diligence and caution, mindfulness and awareness, does not violate the teachings, keeps vows and commitments, is gentle in body, speech, and mind, has great compassion and altruism, is broad-minded, likes long-term things, is generous, has pure perception, is stable and has great devotion, those people should always remember the virtues of the Lama, not think about faults, and even if they see them, think about virtues, be sure that it is their own appearance, and the Lama does not have them, think like that from the bottom of their hearts, and confess, restrain, and rely on remedies. Abandon things and places that displease the Lama, and strive to seek ways to please the Lama. Never violate the teachings given by the Lama, and regard the attendants of the Lama as the Lama. Do not take the Lama's attendants and servants as disciples, and should request teachings and empowerments, etc. In front of the Lama, restrain body, speech, and mind, do not stretch legs, do not sit cross-legged with the back facing the Lama. Do not frown, do not glare, do not show anger. Do not speak rashly, do not lie, do not slander, do not speak about the faults of others, do not speak unpleasant and harsh words, and do not speak irrelevant words without examination.
