The great method of establishing awareness is the basis of all great appearances. The five elements appear as the path of the Buddha. The five great ones themselves are clear as the appearance of the mother. Without distraction, abide in the great state of non-grasping. Thus it is said. Thirdly, there are three aspects to establishing the wheel of dharmata, the great expanse of clear space, equal to the sky: The key instruction for establishing mind itself as non-action through the state of dharmata being free from effort. The instruction for the arising of conceptual thought as wisdom through the key point of dharmata being delivered on its own ground. The instruction for the absence of affirmation and negation in appearance through the key point of dharmata being liberated from its own place. The first is: The nature is free from action, it is not understood by doing, it is understood by abiding without doing, therefore the three doors are placed in a natural, relaxed state. As it is said in the *Thal 'gyur*: Furthermore, the dharmata of non-action is liberated by non-action. And in the *Kyungchen Khading*: Therefore, if one is free from the actions of samsara and nirvana, there is nothing else to do other than Dzogchen. And in the *Six Objects*: The basis is established by being free from action. The second is: Appearance is introduced as the play of mind. Play is introduced as the groundless, clear appearance. Clear appearance, if grasped, is introduced as delusion. If not grasped, it is introduced as self-luminous, non-appearance. Therefore, it is determined that external objects, appearance, and mind are not different, and the objects of birth in samsara are exhausted. Furthermore, the mind that grasps appearance is introduced as groundless. Groundlessness is introduced as the self-movement of emptiness. Self-movement is introduced as the primordially awakened, without trace. Therefore, the mind that wanders in samsara is awakened in groundlessness, and the three realms are dissolved into the nameless dharmata. As it is repeated. As it is said in the *Perfection of Skill*: Consciousness is not in an object, it is the state of peaceful dharmata. Appearance is abundant in itself, self-appearance is without substance. The mind that is free from appearance is the meaning of dharmata itself. Do not contract or expand, look to your own object. Thus it is said. Here, some introduce appearance as mind, and mind as emptiness, and add introduction upon introduction. Emaho! Appearance is introduced as mind, therefore abide in mind. Mind itself is introduced as emptiness, therefore seal bliss with emptiness. Emptiness is introduced as awareness, therefore awareness itself is inseparable from the expanse, that is the dharmakaya. These seem to be attached to the self-character of words. Regarding this, there are three things: view, need, and the measure of what harms reality, therefore one should not approach the aspect of the view of the heart essence.

It is like this. The intention is: To correct those who hold that external objects have no other meaning, it is said like this. As it says in "Self-Emergence": "Sometimes appearance is shown as mind." This is because appearance is only attributed to the mind being deluded. The necessity is only to abandon attachment to external objects. The harm to reality is: If appearance is mind, then the mind must be determined by the senses such as the eyes to have color and shape, etc., because appearance is determined to have shape and color, etc. Appearance is mind, mind is emptiness, emptiness is awareness, if these three are confused with each other, then awareness will become delusion. Appearance will become invisible to the eyes, etc., and the mind will become non-deluded, because the nature of these three is the same entity. The differences have been explained in detail before. If you practice appearance as the yoga of the mind, you will not be liberated. As it says in "Self-Emergence": "Appearance is the yoga of the mind, everything arises from my mind, if you realize the nature of mind, what else is there to do? If you always say this, I have not said that such a person can be liberated." This quote also causes harm. When you realize that there is no mind, appearance will become non-existent. When the mind stops, appearance will also stop at the same moment. But in the absence of mind, appearance still exists, which also causes harm. There are five states of no-mind, as it says in "Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes": "No-mind is sleep and fainting, and two samadhis, and constant unconsciousness." In short, thinking that appearance is mind is a great darkness of wrong views, so it must be eliminated. Third, the key to the liberation of the nature of reality from its own ground, the instruction on appearance without affirmation or negation is: The five external objects do not exist, emptiness is self-purifying like the moon in water, so there is no need to purify it. Internal thoughts and concepts naturally disappear, without a trace, so there is no need to destroy them through effort and antidotes. Appearance and mind are originally liberated, relaxed, so there is no need for the bondage of affirmation and negation. Awareness is naked, there is no need to put on the clothes of elaboration, but relax and naturally abide in great equanimity without a trace. Let the five sense doors naturally manifest as the original radiance of awareness. That is, the nature of inner self-luminous awareness is revealed, and from that, no matter what good or bad thoughts and ideas arise, recognize them as the self-manifestation of the nature of non-dual, natural, primordial wisdom, without chasing after them. Appearance and mind
