Of the sky, and the sky that liberates in the pure realm. These, in order, are: actual awareness, the five lights, the lamp of completely pure space, the wisdom of signs, and the confidence in ascertaining the meaning of examples given by twenty-one recognitions. Thus, the collection of the elements of the five elements' awareness is the great element, and its basis is the small element. In the Supreme Vehicle Precious Treasury, it is shown as the place of arising, which is the fifteenth chapter. Thus, having established the nature of dependent origination, now there are four pure abodes of the dependent space and wisdom: the dependent body, sound and light, the dependent wisdom, and the excellent distinctions of the activity of enlightenment. First, there are two excellent distinctions of the dependent body: a general indication of the space of the three bodies, and a specific explanation of the enumeration of the five bodies. First, there is a brief indication of the definition of the body, and a detailed explanation of the place, of which the first is: the three bodies abide in the space in the manner of one essence and different aspects. In "Self-Arisen," it says: The appearance of the three bodies of wisdom is unobstructed by anything, the object of focus is one, and the essences appear separately. So it is said. This is also the way that one awareness appears. From that very source: Awareness without thought is the essence of the Dharmakaya. Awareness unceasingly clear is the Sambhogakaya. Awareness appearing as anything is the Nirmanakaya. So it is said. In this, there are three: completion, awakening, and expansion. Of these, completion is: From "Self-Arisen": In the pure appearance of the three bodies, one is complete, two are complete, all are complete. Wisdom appearance is unceasingly clear. Pure wisdom radiates light. In the pure awareness without thought, the five lights are unceasingly clear. In the great self-liberation without grasping, all outer, inner, and secret dharmas are clear. In the awareness of abandoning activity, all actions and objects are complete at once. In the awareness free from mind, various appearances are complete at once. In the great self-appearance of clarity and purity, the appearance of delusion is complete at once. In the great self-liberation of self-appearance, all other-born dharmas are complete at once. The way the three bodies are complete is just like that. So it is said. Awakening is the absence of any part of dualistic clinging and delusion. From that very source: Delusion is awakened by the absence of action. Afflictions are

I am enlightened. Without grasping, self-arisen enlightenment. Without attachment, conceptualization is enlightened. Without clinging, ignorance is enlightened. The way the three bodies are enlightened is just like that. So it is said. Regarding the increase: Qualities naturally and spontaneously increase, as it is said in 'Self-Arisen': In the wisdom without conceptualization, the five lights are clear, so wisdom increases. When awareness is free from doing and not doing, without an object of focus, the three bodies increase. In the appearance of awareness without an object, without a grasping mind, the five lights increase. In the great wisdom of awareness, meaningful self-appearance, the fruit increases. The way the three bodies increase is just like that. So it is said. Secondly, regarding the explanation of the increase of the place. There are three explanations of the increase of the place of the Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya. The first also has ten aspects: essence, definition, self-nature, metaphor, sign, appearance, place, characteristic, object, and intention. The essence is: emptiness, clarity, unobstructedness, self-purity. From that very source: Immutable, unobstructed, pervasive, these three are the essence of the Dharmakaya. So it is said. The definition is: The nature of reality, primordially pure, spontaneously accomplished, is the body of clear light, therefore the essence is primordially pure, unchanging, the unerring dharma, the self-nature spontaneously accomplished, the body of clear light is the great self-abiding place. From that very source: Fearless, emptiness, and clarity, and all actions are complete, this is the definition of the Dharmakaya. So it is said. The self-nature is: Being free from all extremes of elaboration, therefore nothing is established anywhere. From 'Self-Arisen': No outer, no inner, no space, is the self-nature of the Dharmakaya. So it is said. The metaphors are: Awareness is clear light like the sun, profound like the ocean, without being stained by faults like the lotus, unchanging like the mountain, vast without beginning or end like the sky, and like a lion because it is inherently endowed with the confidence to subdue everything. From that very source: Sun, ocean, and lotus, mountain, sky, and lion, these three are the metaphors of the Dharmakaya. So it is said. Transcending going and coming is the sign. From 'Self-Arisen': No going, no coming, no abiding, is the self-sign of the Dharmakaya. So it is said. The appearance is like the realm of empty, clear sky. From that very source: Unobstructed, clear radiance, empty in essence, is the appearance of the Dharmakaya. So it is said. The place is great, with pure remembrance and thought. From that very source: Immeasurable, without focus, without grasping, is the place of the Dharmakaya.
