Everything is merely a designation. Thus it is. Second, to explain the increase of the inner elements in detail, there are two aspects: the common divisions and the individual nature of each division. First, the five gross elements of the body rely on the five pure elements within, hence they are called inner elements. Wind, fire, earth, water, and space, each of these five exists in five forms, resulting in twenty-five branches. The reason for this certainty is that it is determined by relying on five different functions. As it says in the 'Self-Arisen': "The five great elements are complete within one's own body." Among them, the five aspects of wind produce the sound of wisdom. The five aspects of fire produce the power of wisdom. The five aspects of earth produce the essence of wisdom. The five aspects of water produce the object of wisdom. The five aspects of space produce the place of wisdom. So it is said. The second has five aspects: the detailed explanation of the nature of wind, fire, earth, water, and space. The first also has two aspects: the fundamental divisions and the detailed explanation of the branch divisions. The fundamental divisions are, as it says in the 'Self-Arisen': "What are the five aspects of wind? They are the life-sustaining wind, the wind that generates radiance and luster, the wind that is together with fire, the all-pervading wind, and the merciless kalpa wind of karma." These winds reside in the head and tail of the bodies of all sentient beings. So it is said. Among them, the life-sustaining wind resides in the life channel. The wind that generates radiance and luster resides in the eyebrows. The wind that is together with fire resides in the navel. The all-pervading wind pervades the entire body. The karma wind resides between the heart and the pericardium. The functions of these are, in order, to maintain life, generate luster, digest food, move around, and transfer life. Second, the branch divisions are that each of the five winds exists in five forms. Among them, the first, the five aspects of the life-sustaining wind, as it says in the 'Self-Arisen': "The life-sustaining wind also has five aspects: the life that holds the root, the life that protects, the life that scatters, the impure life, and the life that vibrates." So it is said. These also, in order, are in the life channel in the manner of generating the sound of intelligence, generating the sound of bindu, generating the sound of light, holding the root of ignorance, and being a companion of the mind, and

The tone of the life-force wind relies on the tone of awareness to exist. Second, the five winds that dwell with fire are: Again, from there it says, the winds that dwell together with fire are also five, namely: the wind that separates essence and dross, the wind that generates warmth, the wind that makes it clear and transforms, the wind that completely gathers, and the wind that completely praises, there are five in total. They also abide inseparably from life, inseparably from awareness, inseparably from the lamp, inseparably from the bindu, and inseparably from wisdom, respectively. Third, the five winds that generate splendor and radiance are also from there it says, the winds that generate splendor and radiance are also five, namely: the wind that generates various consciousnesses, the wind that generates various aversions, the wind that generates various radiances, the wind that generates various burnings, and the wind that generates various excitements, there are five in total. They also serve as the mounts of the realm of wisdom, the realm of appearance, the realm of the lamp, the realm of ignorance, and the realm of mind, respectively. Fourth, the five pervasive winds are: From Rangshar it says, the various pervasive winds are also five, namely: the wind that pervades the ground, the wind that pervades immediately, the wind that pervades hatred and fear, the wind that pervades memory, and the wind that pervades the entire body by holding, there are five in total. They also manifest in wisdom, manifest in the lamp, manifest in knowledge, manifest in thought, and manifest in the function of the mind, respectively. Fifth, the five merciless karma winds are: Again, from there it says, the merciless kalpa karma winds are also five, namely: the wind that performs various actions, the wind that liberates in various ways, the wind that repels in various ways, the wind that hastens in various ways, and the wind of the moment, there are five in total. They also pervade the five aggregates, pervade the moment, pervade the bardo, pervade the concepts, and pervade the three of moment, action, and completion, respectively. Thus, the twenty-five are also gathered into five roots, and the explanations of their terms are: From Rangshar it says, because it acts in the pure ground, it is called the acting wind. Because it holds the life of pure wisdom, it is called the life-holding wind. Because the five lights of wisdom are inherently present, it is called the wind that generates splendor and radiance.
