Cutting off the connection of mistaken speech, and not allowing what is spoken to arise again, the liberation of the wheel of letters is necessary. As it says in 'The Stacked Wheels': Who can distinguish the root of speech? The speech of samsara will surely cease. Thus. The third is the conduct of mind: In the 'Tantra of the Only Son of the Buddha' it says: After that, one should also begin the conduct of mind. Joy and displeasure, pleasure and pain, permanence and impermanence, and so on, the thought of contemplation and action, and dharma and non-dharma, and so on, desire, hatred, delusion, and virtue and non-virtue, and so on, perform various kinds of thought and action. Like this, whoever does this, the mind's manifest clinging is self-severed, and can distinguish the root of samsara and nirvana. Thus. Also, as it says in 'Refutation': Having reached the standard in this way, the yogi should train the mind, with past, future, and present, relying on the wheel of memory, thought, scattering, and gathering. For thoughts of joy and displeasure, good and bad, for all kinds of things that exist and do not exist, examine outwardly and think inwardly. The memory of how one thinks, will surely cut off the continuation of arising from the outside. Who distinguishes the necessity of this? Thus. Having practiced in this way many times, one will eventually not enter the wheel of the three realms. As it says in 'The Stacked Vajra Chamber': Who can turn the wheel of what is thought? For whoever can turn it, from the outside that person will stop the continuation of the mind. Thus. Then, through the true subjugation without scattering and gathering, the holes of memory naturally close. As it says in 'Glorious Sky Light': By cutting off conceptualization, the holes close. Thus. That is also when there is no clinging to body and speech, it is the kind of conduct that cuts off the root of the mind. By practicing self-disappearance, without leaving a trace, one can be liberated from the three realms. As it says in 'The Stacked Wheels': Who can distinguish the root of the mind? This does not make the mind regress. Thus. Like this, through the three conducts of distinguishing the root, one can prevent entering the three realms. As it says in 'Understanding Empowerment': Whoever distinguishes the root, will not regress to the three realms. There, the true subjugation is shown. These are the preliminary rituals. Thus. Like this, diligent people, by practicing for three months, some of them can be liberated in that very moment, and the middling and the lowest can all get its trace.

Directly showing the introduction, as it is said in "Thal Gyur": "After completing such practice, constantly focus on the key points of manifestation." Nowadays, those who introduce after the preliminary practices of the mind are controlled by the lazy ones. Third, guiding the mind has the preliminary practices of body, speech, and mind, divided into actual preliminary practices and abiding. As it says: "The order of preliminary training is: The preliminary of the body is, the causes of each action cease, sit in the vajra posture, train the body to benefit the mind. Speech is to abide in the syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ), increase stability and train, introduce soft skills into the path, thus training speech benefits the mind. The mind is the place where it first arises, the place where it abides in the middle, the place where it goes at the end, thus observing and analyzing the three, train the mind, understand the nature of the mind." And, the ritual of abiding also says: "At this time, the key points of body, speech, and mind, the yogi should abide." The necessity of these is divided into two, the common necessity is that the obstacles of body, speech, and mind are pacified, and sins are purified. The supreme necessity is liberation into the three kayas of body, speech, and mind, as it says: "There are two kinds of necessity for this, shown by the distinction of common and supreme." The second meaning, the method of transmitting the uncontaminated wisdom to the continuum, has two aspects: explaining the meaning of the term "actual basis," and distinguishing the order of meaning. First, there are two aspects: delimiting with words and placing on the meaning. The first is: The four sentences of the actual basis, which are the basis but not the real, like seeing the palace but not seeing the king, some great perfection practitioners are attached to the basis of things, unable to actually use it, the nature of the Dharma is scattered, and they die in an ordinary way. What is real but not the basis is like seeing the king, but not being able to determine his characteristics, some instructions initially hit the point, but ultimately fail to define it with words, and then cannot abide in it, becoming wanderers. What is neither real nor the basis is like not seeing the king and the palace, taking the common vehicle's general words as the path of contemplation and meditation of thought, because they do not understand the real meaning, they do not know where to go in the end. What is both real and the basis is like the king
