Thus it is said. Samantabhadra, I have shown. In the mind-essence without grasping, The great self-arising appearance is, The unobstructed, non-conceptual intent, Samantabhadra, I have shown. In the mind-essence without pain, The appearance free from self-grasping is, The intent of great self-abiding, Samantabhadra, I have shown. In the mind-essence without permanence or annihilation, The appearance free from good and bad is, The intent free from abandoning and taking, Samantabhadra, I have shown. In the mind-essence without taking or rejecting, The appearance of impartial self-liberation is, The intent of great pervasiveness, Samantabhadra, I have shown. Thus it is said. Fourth, the result of that is the purification of the afflictions in their place. At that time, the afflictions are not abandoned, yet they do not remain, but are purified in their place, like clouds clearing in the sky, or the clearing of muddy water. Initially, there was no delusion; now, one does not abide in delusion; finally, one has arrived at the ground where delusion is impossible. This is called a person who has abandoned the Dharma. Also, in that very text: In the mind-essence that is the appearance of Dharmata, Happiness and ego-grasping are purified in their own place. In the mind-essence that appears as self, The minds of attachment are purified in their own place. In the mind-essence that is the appearance of selflessness, Being without parts is purified in its own place. In the mind-essence that is the appearance of contaminated things, The arising elements are purified in their own place. In the mind-essence that is the appearance of uncontaminated things, The stains of deluded conditions are purified in their own place. Thus it is said. This is the result of showing the view. The fourth meaning, the yoga of constantly practicing the result, has four aspects: The result of naturally pure nature, The method of resting awareness in its essence as its instruction, The intent of the three realms being primordially pure, The result of the natural liberation of afflictions. First, like a king ascending the throne and not moving, the common people submitting and not moving, and a minister being imprisoned and not moving, there are three aspects. First, just as a royal lineage is empowered from the crown of the head and attains its own kingdom without changing, so too, awareness attains its own ground and does not change from Dharmata, thus attaining its own ground. Second, just as when a king wages war on a country and conquers it, the king and subjects of that country, along with their retinue, have no place to change, so too, the basis for the arising of the five sense consciousnesses is empty, and thus there is no name for samsara. Third, if a virtuous minister of a king is captured by the king of another country, that king is also

Just as one must listen to the king's commands, when the various consciousness flows of the mind cease, its planning and wisdom gain freedom. The fruit of meaning does not revert to the cause, like the fruit of the soapberry tree, it is not produced by effort, but naturally arrives at the state where it already exists, therefore it is called a fruit. Secondly, its method, the pith instruction of effortless abiding, is to be certain that everything is in the nature of awareness, self-arisen, self-abiding, and self-liberated from the beginning, therefore, whatever awareness arises, one should abide in that place of arising without modification, openly and freely. As it says in the "Six Spaces": In the nature of mind that can be attained, hope and fear are self-purified, free from effort and practice, the three bodies are completely fulfilled within oneself. In the nature of mind that can be counted, various vehicles arise naturally, not arbitrary speculation, it is perfected as the essence of great secrecy. In the nature of mind that can be focused on, various appearances arise naturally, names and colors are distinct, it is perfected as two forms of appearance. In the nature of mind that can be measured, the objects of appearance arise as true, the place of entrustment arises naturally, it is perfected with the support of focus. Thus. The three realms are primordially pure, that is, all the clinging, thoughts, actions, and habitual patterns of the three doors are purified in the great self-liberation, therefore, one attains the view that is free from hope and fear of samsara and nirvana. As it says in the same text: In the nature of mind without fear, the appearance free from hope and fear, is called the original abiding, confident view, taught by Samantabhadra himself. In the nature of mind without appearance, the single subtle appearance, is called the great view free from elaboration, taught by Samantabhadra himself. Thus. Fourth, the fruit of the self-liberation of afflictions is that at that time, whatever afflictions and thoughts arise, they cannot stand, they have no substance, but directly self-destruct and self-liberate, like ripples on water or a snake's knot naturally dissolving. Therefore, because one is free from the clinging to samsara and nirvana, one is called a yogi who has transcended the Dharma, that is, the arising feelings and thoughts naturally dissolve. As it says in the "Six Spaces": In the nature of mind that appears as an object, the parts of the subject are self-purified. In the nature of mind that appears as consciousness, feelings are all self-purified. In the nature of mind that appears as thought, discrimination
