Thus it is. Second, the meditation of a Bodhisattva has two aspects: the actual division and that which arises incidentally. The first has two aspects, which are briefly stated as follows: From Rangshar, "The meditation of a Bodhisattva is held by the mind; it arises either naturally or forcefully. Having become accustomed, it becomes emptiness, and the perception of food is abandoned. Those who abide on the bhumis practice it; conceptual thoughts naturally cease. Even so, it cannot represent the great meaning." Thus it is. That is because the meaning of nature is wisdom luminosity, and it is not merely abiding in non-conceptuality, therefore it cannot represent the great meaning. The detailed explanation has three aspects: The meditation of self-nature and force is the spontaneous accomplishment of non-conceptuality; it is merely settling the body and speech. The meditation of object-dependent continuity is the antidote of viewing subtle and coarse afflictions as having no self-nature; it is merely suppressing afflictions. The meditation of abiding on the bhumis is the samadhi of the actual ground of the bhumis, which is merely purifying the habitual tendencies of one's own bhumi. That is also stated in the Union of Sun and Moon: "The meditation of the Great Vehicle is that the meditation of self-nature and force settles the uncorrected action of body and speech. The meditation of object-dependent continuity suppresses the heads of temporary afflictions. The meditation of abiding on the bhumis nurtures the individual continuums." Thus it is. Second, showing the meditation arising from Shar has two aspects: the meditation of self-nature and the meditation of fabrication. First, the meditation of self-nature is that it also arises in all sentient beings when consciousness is distracted, from the state of being startled and dazed, such as in the eyes of a straight arrow, and in the eyes of a rabbit and a hawk sleeping in a nest, and so on. In short, it is present at all times when the mind and consciousness are distracted. Second, the meditation of fabrication is all the meditation that is intentionally fabricated and meditated upon by the mind, non-conceptual and conceptual samadhi, and the generation and completion stages of deities, and so on, because it is intentionally fabricated by the mind. In this context, it is divided into three according to the need, that is, the yogi is temporarily harmed by food and clothing, and ultimately harmed by dreams and habitual tendencies that pass through the three realms, as an antidote to those, cutting off attachment to food is a session of meditation, cutting off attachment to clothing is a session of meditation, dreams

Cutting off attachment to the path and habitual tendencies, there are three aspects to learning the practice of meditative absorption. The first is: relying on various essences and relying on prana. Among these, the various essences are: the essences of the five elements, as well as medicines, herbs, and amrita, etc. Although there are many, the essence of precious jewels is the most profound. The essence of precious jewels and the five amritas combined, as stated in the Thallgyur (幻化经): "Those who wish to take essence, should use the method of combining the five amritas. At other times, to balance the elements, the wise should mix them evenly and place them in a vessel of precious jewels. Then add honey and utzita, seal it carefully, and take a drop of mercury, about the size of a pea. If the wise use this as food, they will gain great benefit from taking essence, without a doubt." So it is said. Prana is the combination of upper and lower, drawn into the Roma nadi, and visualizing the throat chakra filled with the taste of amrita. By concealing the prana of earth and water, all appearances are transformed into food, dissolving into the throat and Roma nadi, filled with the bliss of meditative absorption. By practicing this, the yoga of food is accomplished. These are stated in the Thallgyur: "Such a method of taking essence, relying on precious jewels, extends life as long as the sun and moon. Through the combination of various stones, weapons cannot harm the body. Through the combination of herbs, white hair and wrinkles disappear. Through the essence of resin, one becomes radiant and youthful. Through the combination of meat, the body is filled with nutrients and increases strength. Furthermore, relying on the essence of prana, it explains the miraculous method of taking essence. The so-called cutting off the flow of elements, is understood through the upper and lower pranas. The wise should conceal the prana in the nadi, or calculate through the changes of prana, thereby transforming it into the yoga of food. Thus, through taking essence, the suffering of beings is cut off." So it is said. The difference between asceticism and essence is: slightly eating or drinking the support of stones or water, etc., and then using mantra and visualization as the path, this is asceticism. Whether it is pills or powder, whether there is a support or not, transforming prana and bindu into yoga, is called taking essence. Second, cutting off attachment to clothing.
