The yoga of verbal signs is: clinging to words and acting on words. If one relies on words they do not understand, I have not said that is liberation. The yoga of relying on signs is: after relying on signs themselves, they create miserly thoughts in others through their actions. They are bound by their own thoughts. I have not said that is liberation either. The yoga of following is: those who abide in the ground of faith, acting with faith, placing hope on the first ground. I have not said that is liberation either. The yoga of determining the nature itself is: meditating on non-conceptual singleness, possessing the nature of non-conceptuality. I have not said that is liberation either. The yoga of appearance and mind is: everything arises from my mind. Having realized the nature of mind, what is there to do? Those who constantly say such things, I have not said that is liberation. The yoga of engaging in action is: wanting to accomplish meaning through action. Those who are bound by great actions, first generate the mind of enlightenment and then act. From then on, they do and accomplish all actions. I have not said that is liberation either. The yoga of action as cause is: transforming the continuum itself into the path, hoping for the cause and relying on the cause, manifesting the cause itself. I have not said that is liberation either. The yoga of action as condition is: seeking the true meaning through actions, holding onto dissimilar sides. I have not said that is liberation either. The yoga of ultimate fruition is: taking realization as the path, not abiding on the ground and path, and upon seeing one's own suchness, considering it to be true great liberation. The yoga of true meaning is: even after finding one's own realization, in the purification of the bardo appearances, upon seeing one's own true nature, from that they consider it to be ultimate liberation. The yoga of ultimate liberation is: the yoga of finding certainty is: on the ground of finding certainty itself, having found and seen one's own suchness, they consider it to be truly transcending the ground. The yoga of accomplishing deeds is: primordial purity is the great Buddha. It is said that there is no departing from that. For those four great yogas, it is said that there is no need to purify on the ground, it is said that there is no need to traverse on the path. Thus it is said. Also, because the methods of meditating on the path are different, here, because luminosity is made manifest, one initially enters from below, so there is no need to purify and traverse the ground and path.

Although it is said so, on one's own path, it is necessary to purify the defilements of the three doors, the aggregates of material encumbrances, the fluctuating thoughts, and the coarse winds and minds, so that the mind-essence is pure. When these are purified, the signs of the lower grounds and paths being naturally perfected will arise. Therefore, considering that the lower is naturally perfected by the perfection of the former, it is said that in the Great Perfection, in oneness, there is no need for purification or progression. The one ground is the spontaneously accomplished awareness, as it is in the Kunjed Gyalpo (ཀུན་བྱེད་རྒྱལ་པོ, The All-Creating King): "Without alteration or cultivation, awareness is spontaneously perfected." It is like that. Third, in determining the unsurpassed state, there are two parts: a general explanation of the divisions of yoga, and a specific explanation of the qualified individuals. The first is from the Rangshar (རང་ཤར་, Self-Arisen): "Even the inconceivable yogas are included within five aspects. This is how it is taught: Great prowess is perfected, great prophecies are obtained, great breaths are exhaled, the body is halved, and the yoga of abiding by the command." It is said that the latter four yogas are also included within these five. It says in the same text: "That is also perfected in the five yogas." The five yogas are explained separately as follows: Again, from the Rangshar: "All sentient beings in the three realms are the yoga of abiding by the command. That individual who sees the truth, when the appearance of delusion ceases, is the yoga of halving the body and mind. When certainty is found in the spontaneously present diverse appearances, it becomes the yoga of obtaining prophecies. That lowest of the lowest faculties, in the realms of manifestation in the ten directions, abiding as the Tathagata, is the yoga of exhaling great breaths. That which is primordially pure, unchanging, and great, devoid of all actions and efforts, is the yoga of perfecting great prowess." It is like that. Second, explaining the qualified individuals. In general, the vessel suitable for teaching the Dharma of the Great Perfection is, as previously explained, one who has respect for the lama and is generous, has great faith, wisdom, and diligence, is wary of non-virtue and weary of samsara, and especially has faith in the supreme secret Great Perfection and has the fortune to practice it. It is taught to one who possesses these eight qualities. In particular, the individual who fully bestows the teachings of this Dharma and who upholds it is like the life-tree that appears as the banner at the top of the victory banner. From the Thalgyur (ཐལ་འགྱུར, The Refutation): "The view, meditation, and conduct are great faith and dili
