And since the power of activity is inherently complete, its own light is green, radiating light like a dome from its own place in the north. The wisdom of the Dharmadhatu is spontaneously accomplished, and the nature of reality is inherently complete, so its own light is blue, radiating light like a dome from its own place in the center. During the time of experience, all appearances arise from their own place in front, and from this, one should understand the right, left, back, above, and below. These self-lights of the five wisdoms also become the distinctions of the five bodies, and the wisdom light radiating from those bodies shines intensely with the nature of white, yellow, red, green, and blue, radiating in the ten directions, just barely not touching each other by four fingers' width. All that appears as thin at the base and wide at the tip, thick and dense, is subtle, flowing, moving, flickering, and shining. The realm of the five lights is so vast and limitless that it cannot be measured by an object. It is high and wide at the tip, so it appears as the source of all mandalas. When this appearance is seen, consciousness abides in its own nature of contemplation, so take the key instruction of recognizing the arising of appearances as self-appearance, and abide in that state. If one recognizes this, one is liberated into the state of primordial purity in three moments: in the first moment, one recognizes; in the second, one is liberated upon recognition; in the third, one dissolves from liberation into primordial purity, and after that, there is no appearance whatsoever. If these are elaborated with scripture, they are beautiful to the wise, and they also open the eye of wisdom for the foolish, so they are explained. In the "Union of Sun and Moon Sutra": O great non-conceptual Thubpa, listen! The appearance of self-nature purity is as follows: the consciousness of beings dissolves into clear light, it is said. As soon as the movement of the inner and outer breath ceases, one's own faculties, appearing as objects from parts, arise with the awareness that there is fire. This body with substance does not appear, but appears as a body of light. At that time, the extent of the field of activity of the faculties appears as a mandala of five lights. Moreover, those appearances, when viewed from the outside, are clear inside, and when viewed from the inside, are clear outside. They are completely transparent without inside or outside, swaying, shimmering, feeling soft when pressed, and throbbing when lifted.
