It is a sign that the appearance of mind has subsided. There are four ways of dying for the excellent ones: the way of the dakinis, the vidyadharas, the fire mass, and the sky. When a yogi of excellent diligence dissolves without a body, it is like no one can see the corpse when the dakini does not die. It is a sign of attaining Buddhahood without going through the bardo. When a supreme yogi remains to teach others, everyone sees him disappearing in the middle of a sphere of light in the sky with sound and light. It is like when vidyadharas rise from one level to another, they go into the sky with sound and light with their bodies, and everyone sees them. It is a sign of benefiting beings with inconceivable emanations in inconceivable realms, like the great yogi Chetsun Senge Wangchuk. The way of death of a yogi who has perfected his practice is like a great fire that dies out when the fuel is exhausted. When the cause, the elements, is exhausted, the coarse body of the aggregates disappears, which is a sign that the afflictions are liberated in their own place. For example, Dampa Gyermi Majo, two people in Tsari, turned into a sphere of light from a cave and went into the sky. When the vase of the body of dust particles of a yogi in the state of primordial purity is broken, they merge into one without before or after. This is the way of death like the sky. It is like the sky separated from matter between the appearance of the body. Realization of primordial purity dwells in the clear light of the heart within the body. When a pot is broken, the sky inside the pot and the sky outside merge and cannot be distinguished. The dust particles of the body dissolve, and one cannot distinguish which is this body and which is the awareness within it, and thus attains Buddhahood. This is a sign of thorough liberation in the state of primordial purity. The two ways of death, the sky and the dakinis, are the ways of death in which the dust particles of the body dissolve and are liberated by the primordial purity trekchö. The two, the fire mass and the vidyadhara, are the ways of death in which they are liberated by tögal lhundrup. Where do such ways of death come from? It is a sign of trusting in the Great Perfection of self-nature, not allowing common philosophical views to enter, and it is a sign of understanding the meaning of it, because one sees the meaning of direct experience, one does not follow conceptual thoughts and words.

Having understood the realization of Kadag (ཀ་དག་,Devanagari: क द ग,IAST: ka da ga,Literal meaning: Primordial Purity), one recognizes where one's future destination will be, and because there is no fear or apprehension about death, one does not perform rituals for longevity or ransom from death. Having gained confidence in abiding free from effort and exertion, one does not engage in the activities of the three doors (body, speech, and mind). Furthermore, having realized that everything is the great primordial emptiness without a basis, one is free from grasping at entities in anything, and the meaning of never being separated even for an instant from the state of one's nature arises from the bursting forth of the expanse. For such yogis, there is no need to examine death, ransom, or give instructions, because having transcended view and meditation, Dharma has neither benefit nor harm. Because self-appearing Kadag (ཀ་དག་,Devanagari: क द ग,IAST: ka da ga,Literal meaning: Primordial Purity) and spontaneous presence arise, the place of liberation dawns as a natural endowment, and one is liberated by dissolving into the expanse of spontaneously present Kadag (ཀ་དག་,Devanagari: क द ग,IAST: ka da ga,Literal meaning: Primordial Purity). As it is said: In the Union of Sun and Moon: The yogi examines in this way. The last faculty is the last, connecting existence to the bardo, like a fox with a severed leg. Likewise, those with middling faculties, the manner of death like a mountain deer, is the manner of death of a yogi. Likewise, like a lion, and someone like a beggar, likewise, dying like a small child, is the place of death for a middling yogi. Someone's manner of death like a dakini, likewise, the manner of death of a vidyadhara, self-consuming like a fire, and invisible like a garuda in the sky, all of these are the elements self-exhausting, invisible, not taking, like this, is the yogi's own field of activity, accustomed to this, one finds natural strength. Knowing these at the time of death, one knows the characteristics of the transference of body and mind. For a yogi abiding in this way, there are no constant or inconstant causes of death. Likewise, completely free from fear, also free from the extreme of attachment to the body. View itself and also meditation, for one endowed with yoga, have neither benefit nor harm. Because there is no fruit of benefit or harm, therefore there is also no place for one abiding in this. Separate from the ripening of cause and effect. Therefore, habituating to this is supreme. Self-arisen, self-liberated, the expanse of unborn, before time changes, appearances change, dissolving into the expanse of spontaneously present Kadag (ཀ་དག་,Devanagari: क द ग,IAST: ka da ga,Literal meaning: Primordial Purity), free from the extremes of hope and fear. After the extremes of cause and effect are exhausted, the expanse of Kadag (ཀ་དག་,Devanagari: क द ग,IAST: ka da ga,Literal meaning: Primordial Purity), the indivisibility of space and awareness. Therefore, it is sufficient to realize this meaning, it is the great perfection of effortless spontaneous completion. Thus it is said. Second, arising
