Or, sometimes hundreds of paths may occur, and sometimes they may not. Like this and so on. If you see the gateway to this Dharma, it is said that all teachings have been accomplished. Practicing the Path: Briefly speaking about the Bardo Dharma, or the common paths are: the Path of Accumulation and the Path of Application, the Path of Seeing and the Path of Meditation, the Unsurpassed Excellent Path, the Path of Uninterrupted Bodhi. Relying on these five paths, may we travel the Noble Path. Thus it is said. Also, like showing the path: Just as the lotus is not stained by mud, just as the three realms of existence are not stained by impurities, arising from the lotus of existence, may we be born in Sukhavati (the Pure Land of Bliss). Thus it is said. For those who come here, the path of the three bodies should be shown: From the spontaneously perfected state, it is said: Ho, I prostrate to the body of the King of Wisdom, the Lotus Lord. I pray that you slay this deceased and purify all obstacles. Ho, deceased so-and-so, listen. In the eastern realm of the world, in the Abhirati (Land of Great Delight) pure land, the teacher Vajrasattva teaches the Dharma of subduing through the body. Son of the lineage, listen there to the Dharma of subduing through the body, cut off the attachments of inner and outer, and proceed to the pure land of Sukhavati. In the south, there is the Glorious Land, where the Nirmanakaya (emanation body) Tathagata, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Ratnasambhava, teaches the Dharma of subduing through the gate of qualities. There, son of the lineage, do not be afraid, listen to the one who teaches the Dharma of subduing through qualities, cut off the attachments of inner and outer, and proceed to the pure land of the primordially pure Dharmata (nature of reality). In the west, there is the Lotus Array pure land, where there is the Nirmanakaya Amitabha, who teaches the Dharma of subduing through speech. There, son of the lineage, do not be afraid, listen to the Dharma of subduing through speech, cut off the attachments of inner and outer, do not remain there, and proceed to the pure land of the primordially pure Dharmata. In the north, there is the pure land of Fully Accomplished Action, where there is the Nirmanakaya Amoghasiddhi, the Tathagata, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, who teaches the Dharma of subduing through action. Secondly, listen to the Dharma that subdues through activity, cut off the additions and subtractions of outer and inner, and proceed to the ground of Dharma-nature, primordial purity. In the northeast direction, there is a pure land called "Power Fully Displayed," which is extremely vast, and there is the glorious Vajrapani. Therefore, son of lineage, do not be afraid, request the empowerment of power and strength, subdue the power of demons and afflictions, and proceed to the ground of Dharma-nature, primordial purity. In the southeast direction of the world, in the pure land called "Adorned with Compassion," there is the Bhagavan, the lord of all compassion, Avalokiteśvara. Therefore, son of lineage, do not be afraid, request the empowerment of the Bhagavan's miraculous powers, extend compassion in all ten directions, and proceed to the ground of primordial purity. In the southwest direction of the world, there is a pure land called "Mañjughoṣa's Protector." There is the Bhagavan Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta. Therefore, son of lineage, do not be afraid, request the empowerment to comprehend the eye of all Dharmas, explain all phenomena of existence and non-existence, and proceed to the ground of primordial purity. In the northwest direction of the world, there is a pure land called "Pacifying All Mental Confusion." There is the Bhagavan Akṣobhya. Therefore, son of lineage, do not be afraid, receive the empowerment that reveals the suchness of all Dharmas, and proceed to the ground of Dharma-nature, primordial purity. In the upward direction, there is a world called "Space Completely Pure." There is the Bhagavan, the King of Space. Therefore, son of lineage, do not be afraid, there is the empowerment of the Great Perfection of the Ground of View. Receive that empowerment and proceed to the luminosity of the ground of Dharma-nature. In the downward direction, there is a pure land called "Immovable." There is the Bhagavan Mahāpratisara. Therefore, son of lineage, do not be afraid, there is the empowerment called "Self-Awareness Manifesting." Receive that empowerment and proceed to the sky of self-arisen Dharma-nature. In the center of the ten directions of the world, there is a great charnel ground called "Burning Mountain of Fire." It is extremely terrifying, frightening and hair-raising, causing fear and dread.
