Inherent in their own nature, abiding as separate and non-separate, clinging to their body's lineage and life force, the five relics remain latently immature. When a yogi cultivates the path of the luminous essence, they mature into manifestation, and the five, such as śarīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: śarīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: śariram, Chinese literal meaning: relic), arise, each dissolving into its respective lineage. That is, when the body relic burns, at the passing of a supreme being, the relics of all Buddhas also arise. From the distinctions of the Buddha lineages, the lineages of relics arise in fivefold manner. Śarīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: śarīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: śariram, Chinese literal meaning: relic) is the relic of the Sugatas. Likewise, what is called parīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: parīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: pariram, Chinese literal meaning: Pariram) is the relic of the Vajra lineage. Curīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: curīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: curiram, Chinese literal meaning: Curiram) is Ratna. Berīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: berīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: beriram, Chinese literal meaning: Beriram) is Padma. Likewise, what is called ñarīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: ñarīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: ñariram, Chinese literal meaning: Yariram) is the relic of the Karma lineage. Thus it is said. Furthermore, in an individual, from the five relic lineages, whichever one or all are complete, in the appearance of the fivefold cluster, it is a sign of that relic lineage dissolving into Buddhahood. That is, it says in that very text: On the body of one who passes away with skillful means, all this arises. If the relic of each lineage arises, then even in the bardo of dharmatā, one is liberated upon seeing the body of the Buddha of one's own lineage. Moreover, in The Mirror of the Heart of Vajrasattva, it says: Relics are also fivefold: the color blue is the complete enlightenment in the realm of Vairochana. The color white is of Vajrasattva. The color yellow is of Ratnasambhava. The color red is of Amitabha. The color green is of Amoghasiddhi. The variegated color is that of having reached the ground of the spontaneous accomplishment of the five bodies. Secondly, the classification of distinctions has four aspects: the color of the five relic lineages, the measure of size, the distinction of location, and the cause from which they arise. Firstly, color is fivefold because it holds the aspects of the five lineages. Furthermore, there are two aspects: the color of the peaceful relics and the color of the wrathful relics. The peaceful colors spoken of when the body relic burns are: Śarīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: śarīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: śariram, Chinese literal meaning: relic) is white, barīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: barīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: bariram, Chinese literal meaning: Bariram) is blue-black, curīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: curīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: curiram, Chinese literal meaning: Curiram) is yellow, berīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: berīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: beriram, Chinese literal meaning: Beriram) is red, ñarīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: ñarīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: ñariram, Chinese literal meaning: Yariram) is green. In Rangshar, the colors of the wrathful relics are spoken of as follows: Also, this is how the lineages are shown: Śarīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: śarīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: śariram, Chinese literal meaning: relic) is white and radiant, curīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: curīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: curiram, Chinese literal meaning: Curiram) is blue-black, barīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: barīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: bariram, Chinese literal meaning: Bariram) has a burnt yellow, ñarīraṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: ñarīraṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: ñariram, Chinese literal meaning: Yariram) is purplish-black, pañcaram (Sanskrit Devanagari: pañcaram, Sanskrit Romanization: pancaram, Chinese literal meaning: Pancaram) is red-green-black. These four
