Furthermore, if we explain the names and meanings of the eight categories such as the Root Tantra, the root is like a rooted root, referring to the root being integrated into awareness. Explanation is like expanding leaves, referring to the mixing of words and meanings. Limb is like a winding tree trunk, referring to the inseparability of space and awareness. Scripture and reasoning are like blooming flowers, referring to holding onto the self-nature of the lamp and being able to point it out. Instruction is like a ripe fruit, referring to using the three bodies as the path. Realization of self-abiding is like seeing the path of liberation, referring to using the result as the path. Entering self-liberation is like awakening awareness as the path, like a courageous person, referring to the lamp itself recognizing its own nature. The ritual of the wise is like the completion of the instruction's scripture, referring to protecting the sacred teachings and making them last long. If you examine the letters of these, the root means that the root of Dharma is integrated into awareness, and the root of awareness is emptiness, free from grasping. Holding the tantra, awareness meets its own nature. Holding, meditation abides in itself. Reading, the meaning of what is expressed arises in the mind. Explaining, one obtains supreme and common accomplishments. Meditating, samsara is completely purified. Listening, one enjoys temporary wisdom. The elaboration of the oral instruction, the oral instruction of words is lost in words, so the meaning does not truly arrive. The essential meaning of the oral instruction, without relying on words, one attains Buddhahood. Relying on the expressible of the oral instruction, the inexpressible meaning of awareness arises in the tantra. The words of explanation are, relying on the elaboration of words, thereby symbolizing the wisdom of non-elaboration. Realization is, there is no obstruction to the nature of reality that transcends intervals, and it abides in itself, not coming from elsewhere. Scripture is to generate faith in what is unchanging and stable. Awareness is, relying on that meaning, awareness is liberated to the state of Buddhahood. Clarity is, because knowledge is clear, it does not abide anywhere. Because the senses are clear, one can distinguish between Dharma and non-Dharma. Limb, placing the five senses in one's own limb, therefore the six consciousnesses tremble. Grasping that hand, one transcends the three realms. Entering emptiness, because one enters appearance, appearance and mind are united. Because appearance merges into emptiness, subject and mind are not two, because it is self-liberation, it is unmodifiable.

The wise are skilled in the timing and essence of the Mamo (Tibetan: མ་མོ།), able to weaken what is to be destroyed with mere thought; skilled in actions and their rituals, able to sever the life force of what is to be destroyed with mere intention, without the need for mantras or samadhi; skilled in the mantras and samadhi of the Mamo, easily approaching deities and achieving accomplishments; skilled in the recitation, practice, and activities of the Mamo, fulfilling one's desired goals; skilled in substances and offerings, increasing wealth and accomplishing tasks. Thus, having established these points, for those who delight in speculation, everything is taught; for those of middling capacity, accomplishment is achieved through the eight tantras that condense these into eight categories; for those who are superior, the essence of the tantras is taught, namely, the two divisions from skillful means and the three divisions from nature, making five sufficient; for those who are even more superior, the two tantras of meaning and words are taught; for those who are extremely superior and free from elaboration, accomplishment is achieved solely through the fundamental tantra of awareness, for awareness encompasses all tantras. In the 'Decision' it is said: Furthermore, the nature of the tantra is explained, the true nature arises from sound, its essence is without letters, self-aware wisdom blazes like a lamp, the nature is pure, hence auspicious and beautiful, the view is fearless, complete with the power of a lion, self-awareness matures, hence complete and self-arising, like a string of pearls connected by threads, the appearance of experience is adorned with jewels, self-abiding emptiness is like a mirror of the heart, faults are self-severed like a wish-fulfilling mirror, not born from others but self-arisen, being self-born, hence self-liberated, one in the dharmadhatu, hence space is also six, qualities are complete, hence a pile of jewels, self-awareness is revealed, hence adorned with recognition, appearances are pure, hence the union of sun and moon, awareness matures, hence the body blazes, all these also arise from the ground. Thus it is said. Alternatively, for those with elaboration, the root and essence tantras, which are all the circles of bindus. For the middling, there are seventeen. For the superior, there is only the self-arising seed tantra. For the topmost, it is said to be liberation from the three times of past, present, and future. As it is said in the 'Ati Great Arrangement': The distinctions of its meaning and words, for those with elaboration, are the root and essence. For those without elaboration, there are seventeen categories. In the state of utter non-elaboration, it is the Vajra Arrangement itself. For those who are free from elaboration, there is liberation through the three times of past, present, and future. Thus it is.
