The teaching on how the four appearances are perfected and liberated by harmonizing with the key points of awareness is: Again, it says in the same text, "The realization of those appearances is, the method is called a special characteristic. Due to the differences in the minds of beings, how should the order be explained? Without effort, there is self-liberation, and with effort, one should practice. Those without effort are self-purified. The key points are purified in three ways, its meaning should be practiced, namely body, door, and place. The key points of the body are these three: the posture of a lion and the posture of an elephant, one should know as the posture of a sage. The door is that it itself does not move, and the two that manifest also do not move, even the sky itself does not move. The key points of the place are also three: abiding in the pure realm of reality, likewise abiding in the nature of awareness, all appearances abide. The mind is unchanging and abides in its own place, the heart is unchanging and aware, awareness is unchanging and the three bodies are clear. When the mind and heart are slow, the stream of thoughts ceases, when the body and speech are slow, one is free from suffering, when awareness is slow, the five bodies arise. When awareness arises, the causes of arising cease, when the realm of reality and awareness arise, the object and heart cease. Thus, the symbolizer is the tantra of method, not generating completion in one's own continuum. Symbolizing is for doing, so it is a method, constantly abiding so it is called tantra. So it is said. Second, the tantra of nature is, the meaning of ground, path, and fruit, again it says in the same text, "By ground, path, and fruit, being grasped and determined, so it is the tantra of nature." So it is said. The essence of this is, the essence of emptiness, clarity, and awareness, is the collection of ground, path, and fruit. The definition is that it pervades all and is the nature of accomplishing Buddhahood, so it is called the tantra of nature. The divisions are: ground, essence, and essence-nature tantra, these three. The ground-nature tantra is the original, primordial purity of awareness, essence, nature, and compassion, these three. That is, the essence is pure from the beginning, so there is no name for ignorance, there has never even been a false imputation. The nature is spontaneously accomplished, so awareness is clear as light. Compassion pervades all, so the function of manifestation does not cease, samsara and nirvana both abide in the realm of arising. The essence-nature tantra is, the triple wisdom arising in the heart as the essence, is the energy of the ground-nature tantra, illuminating from the eye of the ground appearance.

Appearing as the four mothers, it is actually seeing the four path appearances. The essence of the self-nature continuum is the ripening of the fruit of experiencing the appearance of awareness. Its essence is emptiness, so it does not become an object of cognition. It is not an attachment to permanence, so there is no establishment of things as substances. Emptiness appears as self-appearance, so it is not annihilation. The indivisibility of emptiness and clarity is the essence of awareness, and it is called the condensation of essence because it has matured to its limit. The three pure and the three clear, etc., are all the perfected dharmas of the three kayas' path appearances. Knowing is clear without partiality, so it is not annihilation emptiness. Because things are without characteristics, clarity is not gradual. Self-awareness is ultimate truth, and these three are inseparable. Liberation from the four extremes of permanence and annihilation is the intention of the inseparable kaya and wisdom. Among them, the three clarities are: when external objects appear, awareness appears as kaya, and the realm of reality appears as color. In the sky, the realm of reality and awareness appear inseparably. The three certainties are: believing in such appearances is the certainty of view. Grasping the object is the certainty of the object. The cessation of delusion is the certainty of decision. The three irreversibilities are: at that time, knowing that samsara itself is originally enlightened, awareness has no continuum, so it is irreversible. Because the kaya of awareness appears manifestly, the deluded appearances are transformed into pure appearances, so the appearances are irreversible. Because the nature of reality appears in various ways, one gains confidence in realization and is therefore irreversible. The three appearances are: the realm of reality appears without day or night. Awareness appears without clarity or obscurity. The nature of reality appears without change. Thus, because of liberation, the appearance of delusion is self-purified, so there is no cause for samsara. That very pure appearance is self-arisen, so the conditions for samsara are self-ceased. Even offering here is determined as the appearance of the bardo of reality, so the fruit of samsara vanishes on its own. The three emptinesses are at this time: because awareness is unpreventable, delusion is empty. Because the mind has no external conditions, the defilement of conceptual thought is empty. Because light has no coming or going, the conditions of the elements are empty. Thus, although the base, essence, and flower continuum are taught separately, they are only different in aspect, but their essence is the same. How do these three continuums proceed? The reality of things is taught as the base continuum because all Buddhas and sentient beings are born from it, so it is the mother of
