The Sakya school says that after abandoning the four hundred and fourteen afflictions to be abandoned by seeing and meditating on the three realms, one desires to be liberated by manifesting the supreme wisdom of knowing exhaustion and knowing non-arising. The Sutra school believes that by knowing the four truths as the object to be focused on with twelve kinds of knowledge, eighty-eight subtle defilements are abandoned, and one desires to realize supreme wisdom. That is similar to the previously mentioned selflessness of the person, but on top of that, it is superior by one aspect of the Dharma realm. That is also because the five bases of knowable things, which are particulate atoms, are obscured by the chief. The chief is the base of mind, the retinue is the base arising from mind, the non-associated formations are the base of the aggregate of formations, the unconditioned is the base of permanence, and the manifestation is the base of form. By realizing the nature of these five, the indivisible atom is not obscured. Half of the aspect of the Dharma realm, the object taken, the coarse appearance, has not reached each adhering atom, so it is initiated. Realizing indivisibility is superior to before. Because there is no meaningful entity, it is the same as not accepting atoms. Both of these, when diligently practicing the path, do so with the order of the arising of the five paths. As a general antidote to the three poisons, meditate on selflessness and illusion. As individual antidotes, for attachment, meditate on the eight impure substances and skeletons; for hatred, meditate on loving-kindness; for ignorance, meditate on the arising and reversing of dependent origination; and as an antidote to conceptual thought, meditate on counting and measuring the exhaling and inhaling of breath. When meditating on selflessness, also meditate on the meaning of the cessation of the object and the subject, the cessation in which nothing is perceived. If there is dullness, as an antidote to the obscuration of ignorance, focus the mind on a burning butter lamp on the crown of the head. By doing so, some individuals with dull faculties and moderate diligence attain the result in that very life, while some sharp individuals and bodhisattvas, based on the accumulation of many collections of the five paths in the past, complete the five paths in one sitting and desire to be liberated. Among them, from the Hearer's Vehicle of the Lesser Vehicle, because his path is small, medium, and large, he accomplishes the three enlightenments of Hearer, Solitary Realizer, and Buddha, but does not accept the Great Vehicle and the Mantra Vehicle. Moreover, for Hearers and Solitary Realizers, the white bone contemplation, etc., are inferior.

The eight grounds are explained. Based on that, there are stream-enterers, once-returners, non-returners, and arhats. Each is divided into two, those who have entered and those who abide, so they are called the eight stages of great beings. It is also said that the ten grounds of bodhisattvas, such as the Joyful Ground, have four fruits of asceticism. These also come from Rigpa Rangshar. The Hearer Vehicle is like this: The door to enter is the Four Noble Truths. It is the common door to enter for Hearers. It is considered that there are two divisions: Vaibhashika and Sautrantika. The view of the Vaibhashikas is: They consider the aggregates, elements, and sources to be like a yak's tail and a forest. If it becomes the object of one's own mind, they consider them to be dust and atoms. Likewise, after examining them, they meditate on emptiness. The view of the Sautrantikas is: By the nature of what is done in words, and by the three, hearing, thinking, and meditating, by meditating on the three wisdoms, they think that the fruits of the ten grounds can be obtained. The general aspect of the Hearers is: They meditate on the four noble truths, and they think that there are four fruits. That is also how to meditate: For those who want to meditate on cessation, they want to abandon the origin. The way to meditate on cessation is like this: For these external elements, after entering a place of non-attachment, first become accustomed to food. Once accustomed to food, they meditate on samadhi, meditating on non-conceptual, single-pointed samadhi. In the teachings of the victorious Maitreya, they think that the fruit can be obtained. Abandoning the origin is like this: Separating from the perception of food, they think that the continuum of origin can be cut off. That is also meditating on the antidote to hatred, abandoning all defilements. Meditating on the grounds and paths is like this: Meditating on the antidote to desire, meditating on the antidote to ignorance, likewise, the meditation of the path is wanting to abandon suffering. The way to meditate on the path is like this: As an antidote to desire, in the center of one's forehead, visualize a white skeleton the size of a thumb. From meditating on the white light, from that, generate the size of a head, then meditate on the size of a body, then the size of one's house, then meditate on everything that appears. In that way, the three thousand worlds are white. Once accustomed to white in that way.
