The awareness like entering a bird's nest, the awareness like a deep ocean, the awareness that cannot be grasped like the moon in water, the awareness that is universally infinite like space, the awareness that is immaculate like crystal, the awareness that is not stained like a lotus, the awareness that is continuous like a river, the awareness that is unobstructed like a bubble, these are fifteen kinds in total. This is the display of the number of awarenesses. Moreover, this correct awareness exists in the Vajra Garland. These are also completely present when, at the time of focusing on the realm of manifest senses, one reverses for a single yogi to differentiate. In the state of looking at the clear light in the vast expanse of awareness, being overwhelmed by the conceptual thoughts that grasp objects and characteristics, this is the awareness like the roar of a lion. Not moving from the nature of reality and having great mental strength, it is the awareness like an elephant. The self-arisen radiance of awareness soaring in the realm of the nature of reality is the awareness like a garuda. The light and the radiance of awareness separately clear and distinct are the awareness like a rainbow. Burning all afflictions is like fire. Not thinking about anything, the mind being vast, is like space. From the clarity of awareness, wisdom suddenly arises, it is like wind. Having faith in one's own appearance is like a parrot. The mind being clear, naturally abiding, having a great presence, is the awareness like a calm ocean. The luminosity of self-appearance being ungraspable is the awareness like the moon in water. Experience and the clarity of mind being immeasurable are like space. Awareness being clear, without the impurities of sinking and rising, is like crystal. Looking at appearances but not being stained by attachment is like a lotus. The clarity of inner awareness and the luminosity of outer appearances being continuous are like a river. From the state of awareness, experiences, realizations, and wisdom erupting like bubbles are the awareness like bubbles. These fifteen aspects arise. These also arise from focusing the four lamps on the essential points, the activities of the four appearances are completely manifested. In the Uttaratantra it says: How do they arise from the doors? By the urging of the entering wind, from the four lamps arise the four activities. By the movement of the pervasive wind, from awareness itself, the Vajra Garland. By the gathering of the ripening wind, from the pairs of five, the appearance of the body. From the eyes, the wind

Two: Grasping and Holding. The right grasps, increasing appearance. The left holds, perfecting color. The ears are the wind of pervasion and entrance. The right, pervading, shows the decline of sound. The left, entering, is the action of wind. What and what are held? The wind that pervades and completes the crown chakra, subtle and without movement, also holds the body of awareness. The characteristic of appearance on the object is like the clear blue sky without clouds, light, color, and form themselves, showing the self-appearance of the five wisdoms. On the lamp of the pure realm of reality, bindu-body and illusory appearances, self-nature and essence, appear inseparably non-dual. The characteristic of exhaustion at this time is like the actionless sky. By what is it seen? It is seen by habituation and key points. Starting from the habituation that goes first, by focusing the key points of body and speech, after seeing the pure form of self-appearance, all illusions vanish. Thus it is said. Thus, the key points of practice are gathered into the four lamps of the path. Although it has been explained extensively before, here, for the sake of brevity, it is very clearly distinguished as: characteristics, object-support, and difference. First, there are two characteristics. The general characteristic is that it shows the self-appearance of wisdom, and the mother and child of clear light unite, so it is the boundary between samsara and nirvana. In the Tantra it is said: The characteristic of the lamp is like this: in general, it shows appearance, and connects the mother and child of wisdom, it is the boundary between samsara and nirvana. Because the self-radiance is clear, in the light body, it gathers the wisdom free from conceptualization. On the appearance of objects with conceptualization, the non-conceptual wisdom holds the base. Thus it is said. There are four specific characteristics. First, the far-reaching hook is the essence of the four elements gathered, holding the parts of the two kinds of objects, so it becomes the door of increasing appearance. In the Tantra it is said: The characteristic of the far-reaching hook lamp is that pervasion enters into entrance, and entrance pervades into pervasion, abiding as the master of the four elements, it is holding, entering, increasing, and acting. Thus it is said. The characteristic of self-born wisdom is that it arises internally from the external radiance, and with the realization of the mind, it abides in the pure intention of the nature of reality, so it can prevent samsara and nirvana. In it it is said: The characteristic of pure wisdom is that clear words enter and gather the base, burn afflictions, karma, and imprints, and the maturing one can cut the life of samsara and nirvana.
