Therefore, it is said so. That is to say, the immaculate awareness, the nature of Dharmakaya, is not something to be abandoned at any time, and it is the basis of ultimate liberation. While the Alaya-consciousness, like sleep, is the support for all illusory dreams to arise, it must be awakened from to attain Buddhahood, so the difference is very great. That is, sleep and dreams need to be abandoned, but one's own awareness does not need to be abandoned. Therefore, Dharmakaya is the basis to be realized, and one should become accustomed to it, and recognize it as the place of liberation in the fruition. The Alaya-consciousness and the phenomena that depend on it should be regarded as defilements to be purified. Secondly, the detailed explanation is divided into two: the detailed explanation of Alaya-consciousness and Dharmakaya. The first is: In the Ornament of Clear Realization, it says: The essence of Alaya-consciousness and Dharmakaya, here briefly explains Alaya-consciousness. The basis of all good and non-good, established with distinctions of nature and words. Nature is the container of habits, the distinctions lie in body and combination, various kinds and the primordial base. The explanation is "all" means gathering, "base" means completion, etc. As it is said, among the five aspects of Alaya-consciousness: nature, explanation, distinction, and the reason for the use of words, the first nature is: conditioned phenomena, good and evil, and the phenomena of samsara, together with habits, become their container. The explanation is: all are many, the base is the place where many gather, or exists as a foundation. The distinctions are: the Alaya-consciousness of primordial meaning, the Alaya-consciousness of combining meaning, the Alaya-consciousness of habitual body, the Alaya-consciousness of various habits, there are four kinds. The first is: the base of the initial boundary of all phenomena of samsara. It is spoken from the perspective of reversal, from the ignorance associated with the initial movement of discriminating awareness, in an equally existing way. The second is: from the perspective of awareness itself, if one is not aware, it combines with samsara, if one is aware, it combines with nirvana. The third is: from the perspective of the fundamental awareness itself, having the habits of the body, the manifestation of blood, flesh, light, and mind-made body. The fourth is: from the perspective of awareness itself, as the basis of all sources of impure karma and habits. Thus, although four names are spoken, in reality, it is different aspects of one awareness, because there are four different perspectives, so it is established in this way. Thus, from the initial movement until now, the Alaya-consciousness, which is the support of all awareness, and the eight aggregates of consciousness that depend on it, also exist separately in different aspects.

To differentiate, the root is the place where the origination of samsara arises, it is the original meaning, combined with samsara and nirvana, therefore combination is the meaning, appearing as the body, therefore the habits of body and mind rely on it, Alaya is established as the basis, at that time it exists in the form of knowledge, without interruption inside and outside, therefore it is called Alaya consciousness. From that, for the five sense consciousnesses, each of their knowledge is non-conceptual, from the aspect of holding the five objects, it is called the five-door consciousness. At that time, with the discriminating and contemplating inward-looking realization, initially meeting there, with the mind consciousness discriminating, when holding each distinction separately, it is considered the true meaning. It should be known that one mind has different transformations. The functions are: the original is the basis of delusion. Combination connects body and mind, producing the common action of suffering and happiness. The body is the cause of the body and its many collections. Habits are the accumulators and causes of karma and afflictions. The reason for the term is: the connection between the past and future habits, and the external connection of the five fully ripened fruits of karma, and the sequence of cause and effect, and the bondage of universal combination, therefore it is called Alaya. Second is the extensive explanation of the Dharmakaya, from the Ornament of Clear Realization it says: The Dharmakaya is free from elaboration, there is no characteristic of self-grasping, the essence is emptiness and clarity inseparable, the distinctions are Dharma and Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya, distinguished by the three, there are differences. The definition is, Dharma is the true path, the Kaya is accomplished from that. As it is said. Among the essence, definition, distinction, function, and reason for the term of the Dharmakaya, the first essence is: the initial primordial purity, the great luminosity, the spontaneously accomplished basis of manifestation, abiding in the subtle wisdom, and when deluded, abiding in that sound, with wisdom and reality, realizing non-elaboration uniquely, having the part of experience. That is, it says in that very text: There are two ways of abiding, abiding in the initial basis and abiding in the realm of delusion. The initial essence is self-nature and great compassion, existing in three forms. That is also the essence abiding in the body, in the Dharma, Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya, without separation, without distinction, from natural accomplishment, body color etc. are not within the scope of wisdom, the manifestation of self-nature is the form of light, white, red, yellow and green, blue, are not limited by characteristics, but the boundless wisdom is naturally accomplished.
