Knowing arises when self-sounding, self-awareness dawns in the realm of the senses, hence it is called "knowing." The cause of appearance, both samsara and nirvana, including veins, bindus, subtle bindus, etc., is the birthplace of the cessation of all illusions, and is most excellent, hence it is called "most excellent." Within this, the letters of cessation, hand gestures, body, etc., appear, and the ten elements such as earth appear when cessation occurs. Since it is impossible for the senses to perceive them together with illusion, it is said to be the wisdom of cessation. The basis of reasoning for that appearance and that time, including appearance and wisdom, does not come from elsewhere, but arises from oneself, hence it is called "self." Arising means that it is established in relation to that, that is, self-appearance arises from awareness. A lamp means that it is spoken from the darkness of mind and mental factors, from the mind. The lamp of pure space means that it arises from seeing the key point of direct perception, which is also the basis of the manifestation of the five lights, hence it is called space. When appearance manifests as light, it arises with tangible things and is purified, hence it is called perfectly pure. Seeing that, the tangible things are transformed into a light body, dispelling the darkness of samsara, hence it is called a lamp. Combining with the practice in stages, first, the three bases of body, speech, and mind are adjusted, hence it is called space. First, if the key point of the body is not pressed, wisdom will not be gathered; if the key point of speech is not pressed, the meaning that cannot be expressed cannot be found; if the key point of mind is not pressed, thoughts cannot be cut off by themselves, but if pressed, they can be accomplished. The path of direct self-realization is most important, hence it is called "perfect." Seeing the space with the key point of the door, and illusion ceases, hence it is called "pure." That is also the key point of the manifesting door, which can see the space of the nature of reality, and is determined; the key point of the appearing object, no matter what appears, there is no deviation from the nature of reality; the key point of the peg wind, which can stop various discriminations; the key point of the manifesting clear light, which can transform the arising of gross and subtle; the key point of seeing the appearance of the direct perception of the nature of reality, which can cut off the chain of view, meditation, action, and result of understanding the meaning of the nature of reality with conscious words; seeing the appearance of the growth of practice, the impure material consciousness of illusion will self-extinguish; seeing the appearance of the perfection of awareness, one can enjoy the two form bodies; seeing the appearance of the cessation of the nature of reality, one can be liberated from the bondage of the three bodies' self-continuum. Thus, the result is the path.

Therefore, cause and effect are originally diligent practice, which is the most supreme of all methods. The lamp is like a hand-held lamp, and as a component of the key points of practice, it ultimately demonstrates the four reliance instructions. That is, based on the three immutables, the increase and decrease of thoughts will not go beyond the nature of reality and one's own appearances. By grasping the three abidings, one can recognize that the three of body, speech, and mind will not regress to the three realms. By nailing down the three attainments, one can cut off the connection between the four of cause, condition, wind, and mind, and thereafter these four will not be able to gather together again. By grasping the degree of liberation with the four assurances, one will have no hope or fear for samsara and nirvana, thereby reaching the ultimate realm of the nature of reality. Thus, without the four lamps, the connection between samsara and nirvana will not be severed. The four of body, speech, mind, and consciousness will forever wander in samsara, therefore, recognizing the existence of the four lamps, making a firm determination to practice, one can attain the enlightenment of liberation. Furthermore, because there are four lamps. By taming one's own mindstream with the four empowerments that ripen the ground. The four appearances of the path reach perfection. The four kayas of the fruition merge into the dharmadhatu, which arises from its key point. That is, the intention of the precious vase, in the precious citta heart vase, the self-born lamp exists like the sky. The connection of the middle mouth is like the sky, connected by the four lamps. Like the great outer sky, mother and child meet in the liberation ground of primordial purity. Reaching perfection, or when the self-luminous nature of bardo manifests, the vase of the physical body with obstacles is broken. The spontaneously accomplished jewel merges into the secret cavity, which arises from practicing the nature of the four lamps. Here also, let us briefly explain the types of the four lamps. These four lamps gather in the ultimate arising. Ripening into a far-reaching lasso. Because one can see the form of things from a distance, it is called far. It itself arises from the arising of wind, therefore it enables movement without obstruction. Because it can grasp the form of things from a distance, it is called a lasso. Entering into colors and shapes, etc., is the element of water, called water. Because it pervades objects such as senses, types, and enjoyments, it is in accordance with the nature of fire, therefore it is called a lamp. The bindu is, the wisdom of the ground of being. Although it appears manifestly, it abides in the wisdom of primordial purity, therefore it is self-
