It says in that very (Nāpo) itself: "If ignorance is not examined, then the establishment of delusion does not exist." Thus it says. The arising of impure samsaric dharmas due to sudden and intense examination is: It says in that very (Nāpo) itself: "Thus, the three realms themselves, the five aggregates and five faculties, five limbs and five essences, five objects and five afflictions, five minds, five intentions, five discriminations, all are established as the taker and taken of samsara." Thus it says. Earth, water, fire, wind, and space, the five great elements also arise from this. Gods, non-gods, humans, etc., hell beings, animals, hungry ghosts, etc., all truly arise from this great one. Greed, hatred, delusion, etc., pride, jealousy, etc., all produce magical dharmas from this. Ignorance, sentient beings, all intentions, aggregates, realms, and sources, as well as the aggregates of consciousness, the five faculties, etc., all arise. Sound, smell, taste, touch, and sensual pleasures, all arise from this continuum. Storage, Yama, Brāhma, as well as the absence of essence, etc., are all its power and play. The ālaya-vijñāna and the appropriation, flesh, blood, pus, bones, skin, hair, the accumulated bodies all arise from this. Thus it says. At that time, the six kinds of ignorance also arise naturally, it says in the Self-Arisen: "Ignorance is as follows: the root ignorance of mind, the ignorance of deluded objects, the ignorance of the base of delusion, the ignorance of grasping discrimination, the ignorance of contrived paths, and the ignorance of unknowing bewilderment. Thus, six kinds of ignorance arise, and one does not see one's own appearance." This is also as follows: the root ignorance of mind is the truly co-emergent, not knowing the wisdom of self-luminosity, and being deluded, the thought arises, 'Has the appearance of wisdom arisen in me? Is my appearance not this?' Arrogance arises, this is the co-emergent root ignorance, being deluded because the thought of grasping at self arises. Afterwards, the appearance of luminous wisdom is obscured. This is called the root ignorance of mind. Now, the ignorance of deluded objects is explained, by what is delusion deluded? The object is when the world had not yet formed, when the wish-fulfilling tree was growing, the youthful Buddha vase-body of

From the tree born of blessings, and from the warmth and moisture born of eggs, something is born. From that, something called self-arisen wisdom moves, and thus the world of Saha is formed. This is called the ignorance of the object of delusion. The fundamental ignorance of the basis of delusion arises from the impurity of the basis of delusion itself. First, the actual ignorance called the causal condition arises, which is the ignorance of not knowing the basis. From that arises the objective condition, such as the ignorance of the object of delusion. From that arises the possessive condition, which is the clinging to the self in relation to the tree. From that arises the contiguous condition, which is that consciousness becomes coarse and grasps the object. From that, afflictions become coarse. This is called the ignorance of the basis of delusion. The ignorance of grasping and conceptualizing, from that arises an immeasurable collection of afflictions. How is this? The six grasping minds arise. The mind that corresponds to ignorance, the mind of the consciousness of mind, the mind that seeks everywhere, the mind that determines, the mind that is coarse, and the mind that ascertains. How is this? The mind that is associated with ignorance is like this: the root is actual ignorance, and it is accompanied by the movement of mind. This is the mind that is associated with ignorance. The consciousness of mind is called the consciousness of mind because it is grasped by the consciousness that thinks "this is mine" in relation to the object, and because it is dominated by afflictions by grasping at self and what belongs to self. The mind that determines grasps the object with the consciousness that thinks "this is my object," and therefore attachment arises to it, so it is called determination. The mind that seeks everywhere is dominated by the object and gathers together all subtle afflictions. Therefore, it is called the mind that seeks everywhere. The coarse mind commits many evil deeds such as killing and breaking vows with coarse afflictions. The mind that ascertains is the mind that ascertains that the appearance of these things is mine or belongs to others. This is called the ignorance of grasping and conceptualizing. The ignorance of the path of fabrication is when the six minds gather and obscure the path of wisdom. That is, the mind does not see wisdom and does not clearly
