Since it arises, there is no cessation or emptiness. The self-nature is spontaneously perfect wisdom, Why do you not contemplate that it neither arises nor ceases? Because the realm is pure and without certainty. Since skill and qualities are without interruption, It appears merely as a play, It is the basis for the completion of all varieties. Since it is non-existent, it appears; since it appears, it is empty. It possesses the branch of the union of appearance and emptiness, Buddhas and sentient beings are all realms. Thus, it manifestly abides as the basis, It abides merely as self-nature, When examined from the aspect of essence, it is empty. Since the branches unfold, knowledge is complete, Since it is spontaneously accomplished in its own place, In this, there is neither acceptance nor rejection. From the all-pervading compassion-wisdom, The gate of various appearances arises without effort, Appearing as activity, it is complete in essence. From the empty self-nature of the Dharmakaya, The aspect of the completion of wisdom-awareness, Naturally appears to sentient beings. Without that, samsara and nirvana would be cut off, It is aware and clear through knowledge. From the nature of self-awareness clarity, Self-nature is naturally compassion itself, It is uninterrupted and without cessation. From the aspect of the purification of the elements, In the absence of activity, one thing is complete, Like light from the sun, Its own nature is without obscurations. From that, grasping at characteristics arises, The five wisdoms of the Sambhogakaya arise from this. In the mirror-like wisdom, from the images, Shape and color, the aspects of appearance are complete, White, without stains, pure, hence light. Self-nature appears, uniting samsara and nirvana, The appearances of all phenomena, Is called self-knowing wisdom. Clear and empty, and liberated by emptiness, Exhausting the thoughts of liberation-grasping extremes, Complete in the ground of unfixated liberation. That which is called equality, Equality has two causes and three conditions, By the time and measure of hearing. In this, there is no duality, free from division, The mother does not separate, two in their own place, Called equality in the nature of reality, Free from the pain of elaboration. That which is called "ness" is without fabrication or effort, Self-nature abides, empty in essence, The nature of mind exhausts all thoughts. That which is called wisdom abides in its place, By realizing its characteristics, It does not abide in either samsara or nirvana. The consciousness of individual discernment, Whatever appears to whatever, that is its dharma, Clear in separate order. Having purified self-appearance through examination, Awareness itself becomes an object, That which is called individual is differentiation, It arises in the manner of an antidote, That which is called realization sees the characteristics, Self-appearance

Adorned with and so on. When primordial wisdom first arises, it purifies the faults of afflictions with wisdom. That which is called "accomplishment of activity," when effort and striving naturally cease, all phenomena naturally abide and are self-liberated. From the basis of self-liberation's completion, one obtains indivisible particles, stainless and pure. It transcends the realm of conceptual thought, it is the nature of phenomena that cannot be separated. With the perfection of self-nature, the limits of appearances are exhausted; it is to be realized in an instant. The accomplished one is free from desire, without repetition or return. Primordial means the very meaning of abiding, having become manifest through wisdom, all phenomena reach the place of exhaustion. The realm of phenomena is vast and boundless, without any limits or center to grasp, it is the pure nature of phenomena, the basis of liberation. Dharma means to practice, there is no past or worldly activity, self-nature is clear and expansive. The realm has no space, it is the abiding place of the great self-arisen. Primordial is the nature of completion, from the very beginning it is without fabrication. Through wisdom, one is liberated from both samsara and nirvana, it is the intention of self-manifest completion. Thus. The meaning of the basis is the great inseparability of primordial purity and spontaneous accomplishment. Body and wisdom are inseparable. The beginningless suchness. The unique self-arisen wisdom without rival. The great essence of the three natures of essence, self-nature, and compassion is called the Primordial Buddha. It is called the mandala of self-nature's spontaneous accomplishment, it is the abiding mode of the basis. From the supreme vehicle's precious treasury, the abiding mode of the primordial basis is taught, it is the eighth story. Having thus taught the meaning of the basis, now from that, there are three ways in which the basis appearances arise: the way in which spontaneous accomplishment basis appearances arise, the way in which Samantabhadra is liberated, and the way in which ignorant sentient beings are deluded. In the first, there are also three: a general teaching of how appearances arise, a specific explanation of the reasons for merits and faults, and a teaching of how to dissolve into the primordial basis. The first is, from self-arising, those are said to be the abiding mode of the essence of primordial purity, which is not cut off from India and does not fall into any direction. Below that is the spontaneously accomplished precious womb, which has six ways of arising and two doors. That is called the spontaneously accomplished basis. It is also called the undetermined basis. It is also called the basis appearing in various ways. Below that is the place of reversal. That's
