Just as there is nothing other than a goose, the three bodies and pure lands are also shown to be solely self-aware. Emanation Body arises from nothing. Enjoying oneself is the Enjoyment Body. Because there is no entity in it, it is the Dharma Body. The realm where the three bodies of fruition are spontaneously accomplished. Since the essence of awareness is beyond expression, the basis for establishing things and characteristics is non-existent, which is the Dharma Body. Having realized thoroughly, in that state, awareness itself spontaneously enjoys, that is, abiding in its own place, without interruption, the basis of self-illumination is the Enjoyment Body. The part where the manifestation of compassion is uninterrupted from clarity and purity is the Emanation Body. Thus, the three bodies are not other than awareness itself, but are self-arising wisdom. From the Secret of Illusion: Wonderful bodies and Buddha realms, there is nothing else, but the state of self-arising wisdom. Thus, since samsara and nirvana have not moved from the oneness of awareness, the key to the liberation of all samsara and nirvana is that if one awareness is liberated, this is a very profound teaching. Those five ways of liberation are also described in the Garland of Pearls, the essence and examples are spoken together: In the uninterrupted awareness, there is no turning back because there is no cause for confusion. Because it is primordially liberated, it transcends dependence. Because it is self-liberated, the environment and conditions are exhausted. Because it is directly liberated, the appearance is purified. Because it is ultimately liberated, the four extremes cease. Because one is liberated, many are empty. Since the causes are liberated by the causes, I do not look at the objects of focus. Since the objects are liberated by the objects, I do not look at the two, the grasped and the grasper. Since the cause itself is liberated by the cause, I do not look at the two, samsara and nirvana. Since the Dharma is liberated by the Dharma, I do not look at the words of expression. Since the mind itself is liberated by the mind, I do not look at the indicative mind. Just as dirt is washed away by dirt, so purity is liberated by purity. Just as poison destroys all poisons, just as iron cuts all iron, just as stone breaks all stones, just as wood burns all wood, each enemy is made by itself. It is not liberated by dissimilar kinds. Thus, the six bonds of the five ways of liberation together with the essence of the self are released. Now, from the order of pith instructions from the realm of view into the nature of reality, binding into bonds in that which is equal to space, beyond thought and expression: The vast realm of Bodhicitta itself.

Las(1)། །When thoughts of memory do not arise, the characteristic of awareness does not waver in the mind. This is the intention of the one Buddha. Among the three—essence, nature, and compassion—first, the certainty of essence is that mind itself, in the realm of no memory or thought, is free from arising and ceasing, hope and fear, and is laid out flatly. As Khungchen says: The ground of non-meditation is self-awareness, beyond sound and intellect, the field beyond all. What need is there to alter the self-existing state? And as the Kunjed Gyalpo says: In the Dharma-nature of enlightenment, which is without acceptance or rejection, abiding like the sky, there is no alteration of body and mind. Because there is no perception or clinging, there is no meditation.(2). Like the sky, it is utterly peaceful, free from all turbidity, not entering into objects, intention free from objective focus. So it is. The binding of awareness into great clear emptiness is like the vast expanse of the sky, the nature of enlightenment. The best of meditation is without memory or thought. One's own nature is unmoved and unaltered. Without thinking, without mental activity, free from all concepts. The natural state is unchanging in the three times. If there is no movement of thought, it is the best of meditation. The nature of awareness is clear light, like the sun and moon unobscured, appearing in the midst of the sky. In the state of self-clarity, naked and bare, without the distraction of thoughts, simply let it be. Spontaneous accomplishment is clear in its own face. As Khungchen says: The key to unmeditated wisdom is spontaneous and unaltered. The self-appearance, without cause or condition, is unobscured. Effortless, unique, unmade by anyone, the heart essence of primordial perfection enjoys the spontaneous accomplishment. So it is. Since conceptualization is the opposite of self-purity, and since there is no ground for settling because it is endless, one must abide in the self-purity of naked self-liberation, free from concepts. As the Kunjed Gyalpo says: Conceptualization in objects is beyond the count of characteristics. Because it is fabricated, it cannot be grasped. Conceptualization destroys conceptualization, deceiving children like turbidity in water. So it is. The binding of arising liberation, impartially naked, is suchness, the supreme mind that abides, the one Buddha, separate from all, the unwavering Dharmadhatu, beyond grasping and conceptualization, the victorious expanse of mind, the best of vastness in nature, abandoning the artificial bonds of body and mind, letting go, relaxing, whatever thoughts and memories may change.
