Gains its own ground. At the time of liberation, self-liberated, gains its own ground. The three, arising, abiding, and liberation, are nothing other than awareness. Awareness, radiant, abides purely from the beginning in the self-essence of the Dharmakaya, that is called one's own ground. When one recognizes this, it is gaining one's own ground. At the time of self-arising, the ground of arising, awareness nakedly liberated, is cessation. At the time of self-abiding, the ground of abiding, awareness nakedly ceases. At the time of self-liberation, the place of vanishing, awareness nakedly ceases. As the Great Garuda says: 'Without cause, self-liberated, not relying on conditions, impartial, self-purifying view, this is without existence. Eliminating the three obstacles of attachment and all extremes, appearance and awareness simultaneously descend, is the great natural cessation.' 'Self-arising, free from elaboration, ceases between cause and condition.' Thus it is said. Primordially liberated, ceasing apart from the root, is: In the unchanging, elaboration-free awareness, arising is primordially arising, abiding is primordially abiding, liberation is primordially liberated, is the nature of space. Just as when a mirage appears as water, there is no water in the water from the beginning, liberated as if there was no water. All phenomena are without self-nature, primordially empty and without self, therefore primordially liberated from things and characteristics. Thus, whatever appears and arises of outer appearance and inner awareness, all are empty of the cause of arising in the beginning, therefore appearing to arise, in the place of appearing to arise, decide that it has never existed. In the middle, in the face of awareness, it appears as if abiding now, this abiding is also empty of its own essence, therefore non-existent, eliminating obstacles in the clear appearance. In the end, it appears as if ceasing, but this ceasing is also empty of its own essence, because it is unborn, therefore non-abiding, therefore not established as ceasing. It is like thinking that the water of a mirage is not appearing or has ceased, it is only a reversal of clinging, in reality there is no ceasing of things, therefore returning to the place where ceasing is not established. Because it is liberated from never having existed from the beginning, whatever arises in the mind, there is no need to liberate it again with an antidote, one should know this. As the Garland of Pearls says: 'It is not liberated by effort, but abides in liberation from the very beginning.' Thus it is said. This is the actual cessation in practice, that is, when an object appears in the face of awareness, knowing it as without a basis, letting go naturally without any modification or alteration. When awareness meets an object, when appearance meets an object, awareness meets radiantly, letting go without a basis, not obstructing awareness with appearance, not clinging, not judging, awareness itself is naked.

In conduct, maintain clear awareness without distraction. As it is said in the Khyunchen: "The basis of all phenomena being primordially pure and completely liberated, effortlessly, without action, eliminating the obstacles of the mind, the impediment of the three encounters, playing in the realm." "Whatever arises, without distraction, tame between the object and the mind." Therefore, in appearance, when awareness arises, immediately abide in that moment, the clear awareness arises, recognize this point, this is very important, so keep it in mind and explain it in detail. The blocking and taming of the Great Ati (cer grol mthong yal) is: arising, abiding, and liberation, arising and liberation, continuous. Because it is continuous, there is no interruption between cause and effect. Because there is no interruption between cause and effect, the cliff of samsara is cut off. Because there is no cliff, where would there be a wrong path? Here, awareness is continuous, so its power does not stop, as awareness appears in the realm, either arising, or abiding, or liberating, it does not go beyond these three ways of disappearing, like the निरंतर(梵文天城体,nirantara,IAST,nirantara, meaning: continuous) flow of a river. In an instant, there is no confusion of cause and effect, arising and disappearing happen simultaneously, like ripples on the water. Abiding and those two are analyzed on the level of consciousness. In arising and liberation, there are individual positions, cause and effect cannot exist, directly realizing, the cause of samsara is खत्म(梵文天城体,khatham,IAST,khatham, meaning: end), the result of the three realms and six realms will no longer be reincarnated, so the mind is at ease. This key point has no wrong path and no obscuration, because it is pure in arising and liberation, so the wrong path and obscuration are cut off in the nature of reality, cutting off the cliff of hope and fear. How to block and tame this in practice? Whether it is the mind appearing on the object, or the object appearing on the mind, it is the same no matter what appears. At the place of appearance, in the instant of immediately abiding, it naturally disappears, without a trace, a clear state will definitely come. At that time, abide in the state of disappearance, awareness is clear and transparent, recognizing this point, the pure part will be stronger and more firm. All other states of disappearance are non-conceptual emptiness, even if practiced, I think that is the still part of awareness, not understanding the key point. In any case, one must recognize the naked, clear, and open state of awareness, this must be considered a special feature of this Great Perfection. The blocking of cer grol, between the appearance of external objects and the arising of the empty clarity of inner awareness, recognizing awareness is taming. As the Khyunchen says: "Cer grol is self-purifying, ultimate liberation, completely perfect."
