English

Here, the meaning of "striking" (ཕྱམ་གདལ་) is that awareness (རིག་པ་) strikes (འབེབས་པ་) the object (ཡུལ་) like a flash of lightning (ཅར་ཕོག་ཏུ་). In short, it means abiding in the meditation (བསམ་གཏན་) of one's own nature (རང་བཞིན་), and at the time when power (རྩལ་) manifests (སྣང་) on the object from that (meditation), recognizing (ངོས་གཟུང་བ་) these two. "Self-arisen" (རང་བབས་) means that there is no hope (རེ་) or fear (དོགས་), no arising (འབྱུང་) or dissolving (འཇུག་), abiding in the present moment (ལྷན་ནེ་གནས་དུས་ཀྱི་གནས་ཆ་), which is meditation, so abide in it. Recognize awareness (རིག་གེ་སང་ངེ་བ་) as striking like lightning, and protect (སྐྱོང་བ་) it in its own state (ངང་). From the absence of letters (ཡི་གེ་མེད་པ་ལས): There is no inside or outside, neither inside nor outside, clear and bright (གསལ།). It is not the observer (ལྟ་བྱེད་མ་ཡིན་), it transcends the two extremes of permanence and annihilation (རྟག་ཆད་གཉིས་ལས་འདས།). Because there is no seeing (ལྟ་བ་མེད་པས་), there is nothing to be seen (ལྟ་རུ་ཡོད་མ་ཡིན།). It does not deviate from the meaning (དོན་ལས་མི་འདའ་), seeing (ལྟ་བ་) is naturally absent (ངང་གིས་མེད།). It is not existent (དེ་ཡོད་མ་ཡིན་), it abides in its own state (དེ་ཡི་ངང་དུ་གནས།). Thus it is said. From the "All-Creating King" (ཀུན་བྱེད་ལས): Emaho! In effortless (རྩོལ་བྲལ་) great bliss (བདེ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་ལ།), The three doors (སྒོ་གསུམ་) do not act (མི་རྩོལ་), do not fabricate (བཅོས་ཤིང་), do not fixate (དམིགས་མི་བྱེད།). Do not conceptualize in the mind (ཡིད་ལ་མི་བྱེད་), do not follow after signs (མཚན་མའི་རྗེས་མི་འབྲང༌།). Rest in the meaning of self-born (རང་བྱུང་) wisdom (ཡེ་ཤེས་) and bliss (བདེ་བའི་དོན་ལ་གཞག །). This is the intent (དགོངས་པ་སྟེ།) of self-born luminosity (རང་བྱུང་འོད་གསལ་), It is the activity (ཕྲིན་ལས་སོ། །) of the intent of the "All-Creating King" (ཀུན་བྱེད་རྒྱལ་པོའི་དགོངས་པའི་). Thus it is said. From the clarity (དྭངས་༼༡༽ལས་) of awareness (རིག་པའི་), at the time when power manifests on the object, like manifesting (འཆར་འཆར་འདྲ་བའི་དུས་ཀྱི།). The part that is wavering (གྱ་མ་གྱུ་འཕྲོ་བའི་ཆ་) is because conceptual thought (རྟོག་པ་) is driven (བསྐྱོད་པ་) by the horse (རྟས་) of wind (རླུང་), so abide in it. In that part, recognize the part of awareness (རིག་ཆ་ཅིག་འདུག་པ་) as striking like lightning, and let the manifestation of power (འཕྲོ་ཆ་) dissolve on its own (རང་ཡལ་ལ་འགྲོ་སྟེ།). The "All-Creating King" says: Do not fabricate the body (རང་ལུས་མི་འཆོས་), do not dull the senses (དབང་པོ་མི་རྟུལ་ཏེ།), Do not restrain speech (ངག་ཀྱང་མི་བསྡམ་), and there is nothing to seek (བྱ་བཙལ་བྱར་ཡང་མེད།). Let the mind (སེམས་ཀྱང་) go where it will (གར་བཏང་), rest in the state of immovability (མི་གཡོའི་ངང་ལ་གཞག །). Thus it is said. The meaning is that the meaning of all (ཀུན་དོན་) is without birth (སྐྱེ་བ་མེད་པ་སྟེ།), Recognize (རིག་བྱས་ནས།) the characteristics of conceptual thought (རྣམ་རྟོག་མཚན་མ་དེ་བཞིན་) as they are, All (མ་ལུས་ཀུན།) the movements (འགྱུ་བ་) of memory (དྲན་), thought (བསམ་), and mind (ཡིད་ལ་), Do not stray from the state of unborn (སྐྱེ་བ་མེད་པའི་ངང་ལས་མ་ཡེངས་པ།). However you think (གང་ལྟར་བསམས་ཀྱང་), know that it is meditation (སྒོམ་པ་ཡིན་ཤེས་ན།), Without meditating (མ་བསྒོམས་), there is no distraction (ཡེངས་པ་མེད།). Thus it is said. Here, the key point is to recognize the nature of awareness as naked (རྗེན་ལ་ཕུད་པའི་), do not pursue (རྗེས་མི་བཅད།) the moving part (འགྱུ་ཆའམ་འཕྲོ་ཆ་), do not look at its face (ངོ་ལ་མི་བལྟ།), do not rest in self-arisenness (རང་བབས་སུ་མི་འཇོག་པ་), this is the most important key point (གནད་ཀྱི་རང་གནད་གལ་པོ་ཆེ་ཡིན་ནོ། །). If you do not understand this, you will be confused by conceptual thought (རྟོག་པ་ཉིང་འཁྲུལ་དང༌།), self-create acceptance and rejection (སྤང་གཉེན་རང་ཀ་དང༌།), self-create grasping and the grasped (གཟུང་འཛིན་རང་གཞག་དང༌།), and fall into ordinariness (ཐ་མལ་རང་ཀར་འཆོར་བ་ཡིན་ནོ། །). Thus, in self-abiding (རང་གནས་) and self-arising (རང་ཤར་), there is no good or bad, this shows: Existence and non-existence are equal in the Dharmadhatu (དངོས་དང་དངོས་མེད་དབྱིངས་སུ་མཉམ་པ་དང༌།), Buddhas and sentient beings are equal in the Dharmadhatu (སངས་རྒྱས་སེམས་ཅན་དབྱིངས་སུ་མཉམ་པ་དང༌།), Relative and ultimate are equal in the Dharmadhatu (ཀུན་རྫོབ་དོན་དམ་དབྱིངས་སུ་མཉམ་པ་དང༌།), Faults and qualities are equal in the Dharmadhatu (སྐྱོན་དང་ཡོན་ཏན་དབྱིངས་སུ་མཉམ་པ་དང༌།).
