The method of meditating on that samadhi is to sit in the lotus position, fix the eyes on the space, and let the awareness be without contraction or expansion, naturally resting in the essence of self-aware, pristine awareness. By this, all outer appearances and inner movements naturally subside, and the awareness does not follow the control of the dualism of object and mind. As it says in the Six Spaces: "The samadhi of great spontaneous cultivation, for those who wish to meditate on it, in order to seize the key point of immutability, based on the posture of the body, cast the awareness into the expanse of the sky, likewise, the eyes on the space, with the gaze of an elephant, rest in the mindless great spontaneous cultivation." So it is said. The clearing of its obstacles is: the mind that perceives other than self as delusion, the mind that desires to meditate and strive is delusion, delusion in the realm of the self-liberation of phenomena, the unwavering, primordially pure nature of space, without doing or seeking, without resting or not resting. Here, resting the awareness in great spontaneous cultivation is not like having something to accept or reject, but if you cling to it as being so, it is a deluded thought. Therefore, that itself is self-liberated in the space of the vajra essence, free from benefit and harm, and thus, it is certain to realize that resting and not resting are non-dual and one. In Awareness Self-Liberation it says: "In the essence of true awareness, there is no awareness of doing or being done. Clinging is the very cause of straying." So it is said. The great samadhi of self-abiding is represented by the four names of view, meditation, conduct, and result, which transcend view, meditation, conduct, and result. The first is: In the immutable, spontaneously accomplished nature of reality, with self-awareness free from object, thought, search, and anger, if you look again and again, you will see that there is nothing to see. The awareness that has nothing to see is the all-encompassing view. Here, the awareness, in its clear, naked essence, is to be viewed without distraction from the meaning of transcending the seer and the seen. As it says in the Kunjed Gyalpo: "O teacher of teachers, Kunjed Gyalpo, prophesied the meaning of the unerring intention, in the essence of the meaning that transcends addition and subtraction, meditating and not meditating is like arguing in the sky. Do not be distracted from the meaning of realization, this is the secret, it is not a thing, nor is it not a thing, it is without direction, nor is it beyond direction, therefore, meditating and not meditating does not abide in a direction. If you realize the meaning of the view that has no meditation, then it is spontaneously accomplished in the uncreated, equal king." So it is said. No meditation
