Like going without a trace, and, with the sight of awareness, thoughts are released like a wild horse. These two, although like thoughts disappearing without attachment, the latter has not severed its root, so clinging arises spontaneously, and from the unborn arises the unceasing, so it is thought in the mind. But here, without a place of arising and an ariser, the root is severed, and the radiance of compassion (2) does not cease, appearing inwardly like an image appearing in a mirror. The former arises outwardly, like rays emanating from the sun, seeing this difference is very great. Also, the stillness of the mind abiding in its own place, and, the stillness of awareness settling in its own place, although similar in clarity and non-conceptuality, the mind's aspect has the bondage of grasping and clinging, so there is attachment to the place of abiding, while awareness is unobstructed and without limits, so the difference is very great. Also, in the clarity of awareness, the clarity does not cease due to the appearance of objects, and, from the mind (3) thoughts arise outwardly towards objects, these two are similar in appearing objects and knowing, but awareness does not follow objects, although objects appear and appear inwardly, awareness is unobstructed, so the root of thoughts is severed, while the mind arises towards objects, its root is not severed, so there is a difference in the arising of thoughts. As it is said in the Sixth Space: The unblemished self-mind, and, the non-conceptual self-awareness, are similar, similar, do not mistake them. The unobstructed, deep and clear appearance, and, the clinging to the stream of thoughts of beings, are similar, similar, do not mistake them. The meditation of not seeking and abiding, and, the rest of the channels, winds, and mind, are similar, similar, do not mistake them. The object appearance of mindless awareness, and, the delusion of thoughts and the six realms, are similar, similar, do not mistake them. In short, the meditation of the mind with a target is the bondage of grasping and clinging, while the samadhi of awareness naturally abiding is the wheel of the nature of things naturally abiding. Therefore, the cause of creating the cycle of samsara is the practice of the superior mind, and, directly connecting to liberation and nirvana is the difference of abiding in its own place in the intention of the Buddha. As it is said in the Madhyamaka-karika: That which arises from the abiding of its own nature, should be said to be true samadhi. And also: The unmade, naturally abiding reality, as it is without change from that, is the intention of the Buddhas . Here, in the common meditation path, this Nyingthig path is superior with five special qualities, because of the naked realization of awareness.

Since the faculties have neither sharpness nor dullness, and since they are directly realized by one's own faculties in a transparent manner, there is no reliance on the wisdom of conceptualization; since the awareness that transcends words is realized in a transparent manner, there is no expectation of mind and empty talk; whatever appears is merely the illusion of good and bad, but it is realized as the appearance of the three bodies on the path, so there is no clinging to appearances; since awareness is nakedly transparent, seeing view, meditation, and action as obstacles to awareness, there is no reliance on the calm abiding of mind-dwelling rest, and therefore it is extremely superior. As it says in the Transcendent Transformation: The heart essence is definitely gathered, Among the faculties there is no sharpness or dullness, The edge of conceptual mind is exhausted, It is not wisdom that sees with the faculties, Since words do not see the nature of reality, The common vehicle does not accomplish the meaning, Since the three bodies are the appearance of the path, Seeing this does not turn the three realms, Since all dharmas are equal in one taste, The ground, path, and fruit are not dependent. Thus it is said. Ah la la, the difference between this vehicle and other vehicles is as great as heaven and earth, even if it is taught, it is not understood, even if it is explained, it is not understood, now still only grasping the surface of the Dharma, for those who rest on the previous introduction, since there is no karmic connection with the secret heart essence of the Great Perfection of self-nature, no matter what is done, becoming a Buddha has not approached even a little bit, laughing at frustration is too wonderful. Now, the means of how to practice the special path itself is taught: Neither rejecting the object nor grasping the mind, The self-nature is spontaneously coemergent, not moving from its state, Going to the intention of the great expanse of Samantabhadra. Thus, it is generally taught, from the letterless: From the beginning, uncorrected, naturally abiding, Not transformed by appearance, not modified by mind, The nature of reality abiding in space reveals the intention. Thus it is said, without moving from the essence of the inner awareness, clear and empty, transparent and naked, the outer appearance of the object is not taken back, the inner conceptual mind is not scattered outward, in between, the awareness is not bound by non-dualistic meditation, but remains freely in a state of openness and transparency, that is, placing awareness in a state of balance with the four methods of abiding and the three samadhis. The four methods of abiding are: mountain-like abiding, ocean-like abiding, awareness-like abiding, appearance-staring. The three samadhis are: self-abiding great samadhi, immediate descending great samadhi.
