In the very nature of mind, which is beyond searching, the great spontaneously arisen self-appearance, is what I, Samantabhadra, teach as 'the great spontaneously arisen wisdom.' In the very nature of mind, which is without impurity, the appearance free from objects and conditions, is what I, Samantabhadra, teach as 'the great self-perfected intention.' In the very nature of mind, which is without conceptualization, the unapprehended, unobstructed self-appearance, is what I, Samantabhadra, teach as 'the realm of self-cognizant clarity.' In the very nature of mind, which is without thought, the spontaneously present, all-pervading appearance, is what I, Samantabhadra, teach as 'the intention of the ground of sound reverting to itself.' In the very nature of mind, which is without memory, the moving, self-purifying appearance, is what I, Samantabhadra, teach as 'the contemplation of grasping self-liberating.' In the very nature of mind, which is without arising and feeling, this unthought-of higher seeing appearance, is what I, Samantabhadra, teach as 'the intention of going and coming ceasing.' In the very nature of mind, which is without grasping, the unobstructed, pure appearance, is what I, Samantabhadra, teach as 'the samadhi of great enjoyment.'

Just recognizing the naked awareness, clear and bright, without grasping or conceptualization, without any additions, one realizes that self-nature is free from elaboration, naked as it is, and there is nothing other than that. This is the non-dual, self-arisen wisdom. If one thinks that saying "essence" and "its power" means that wisdom has two aspects, "abiding" and "appearing," and therefore places the essence in a state of non-conceptualization, and says that "power" should be cultivated into appearing liberation, thus dividing practice into two parts, this is not understanding the key point. This is a manifestation of not comprehending the self-nature. Although here it is said that self-nature and power are different, the appearance of objects in self-nature is like the appearance of reflections in a mirror. Because there is nothing other than the single, essence-unique, naked awareness, when cultivating appearances, self-nature abides on the basis of naked self-nature. Even when cultivating what seems to be an abiding state, the radiance of awareness does not cease, and the way of appearing is naturally clear, like a reflection. Therefore, the naked wisdom of appearing and the self-arisen wisdom that abides in its own place like the surface of a mirror are not separate from each other, but are non-dual. On the essence of naked, clear, free from elaboration, primordially pure self-nature, the essence of the exhaustion of dharmata, it is called self-arisen wisdom, which is luminous wisdom, the ultimate truth, the dharmakaya of primordial liberation, awareness bodhicitta, and so on. Whatever name is given, one must recognize this essence, pure, naked, and primordially pure self-luminosity. Therefore, the essential point to be expressed in Dzogchen is this pure reality, so it is called "Trekchö(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,Cutting Through,切断)," called "naked," called "thoroughly pure," called "primordially liberated," called "primordially pure," and also called "spontaneously accomplished." Although the names are different, the meaning is this single, pure, naked bindu. Therefore, this key point has been explained very clearly. The ultimate intention of the Heart Essence is only this. When this key point is realized, there is no need to do anything or make any effort. Therefore, for those with sharp faculties, this is the dharma of attaining Buddhahood without cultivation, because there is no object of cultivation and no cultivator, no object of practice and no practitioner, and so on. This meaning transcends all views and practices that focus on inner abiding and outer dispersion to cultivate power, because self-arisen wisdom is free from elaboration. As the Great Garuda said: "All dharmas are free from elaboration and without defilement, the key point of effortless self-liberation is extremely supreme." Similarly, at the same time
