Napa Ni. From Khyunchen: The self-manifestation without obscuration, without cause and condition, is effortless and unique, uncreated by anyone. The primordial, complete essence is spontaneously accomplished, enjoying the realm. The illusory water arises from form. The essence is a hundredfold, and examination exhausts the mind. Thus it is said. From Kunjye: The six realms of beings are empty, merely labeled with names. Thus it is. Establishing sentient beings also involves karma and afflictions. Upon examination, these are without foundation, thus free from the extremes of one and many, and empty in nature. From Khyunchen: Fundamentally, desire is impossible for this mind. Upon whom do the ripening karmas and habitual tendencies, which are without foundation, rely? Like a flower in the sky, without a place of origin and without support, the mind has no place in the body, and habitual tendencies cannot rely on anything. Thus it is said. From the Garland of Pearls: The five afflictions of sentient beings do not truly exist in reality. Like clouds in the sky, they are sudden and accompanied by conditions. The clouds arise from the sky itself. Likewise, if one knows they dissolve into the sky, it is called the state of indivisible oneness. Similarly, if one knows that the stains of afflictions are self-arising and self-pacifying, how can they bind sentient beings? Thus it is said. From the Commentary on Valid Cognition: The nature of the mind is clear light, and all stains are sudden. Thus it is taught. Now, to gather the meaning of these into the Vajra realm of great equality: The nature of mind is the nature of Bodhicitta, pure like space, therefore without birth, death, happiness, or suffering. Without distinctions of things, liberated from samsara, nirvana, and all dharmas. It cannot be indicated as "this," the expanse of space is vast and boundless, unchanging, unmoving, spontaneously accomplished, uncreated. Having awakened as the clear light Vajra essence, all things are naturally arising fields of bliss. Spontaneous equality is the very nature of supreme Bodhi. The essence of awareness, the unchanging nature like space, is the essence of Suchness. In that state, samsara and nirvana are primordially liberated. Having awakened in the Vajra essence, the spontaneously accomplished nature of supreme Bodhi is taught. From Kunjye: As it appears, so it is one in Suchness. Let no one alter this. In the mind of the uncreated, equal king, the inconceivable Dharmakaya is spontaneously accomplished. Thus it is said. Mind is the essence of Suchness.

All phenomena are completely accomplished in suchness. Do not embellish what is as it is." "Do not seek to accomplish anything other than the essence itself." "If sought, even the victorious ones will not be found in the realm of reality. Since it has already been done in the past, there is no need to do it now. Since it has already been accomplished in the past, do not strive to accomplish it now. Rest in equanimity without conceptualizing or thinking." Thus it is said. In this tantra, the naturally arising wisdom of mind itself, free from the extremes of elaboration, is called bodhicitta. And in the context of composing verses, it is also referred to as mind. As it says: "Apart from mind, there is no Buddha that I, the All-Creating One, have revealed." Thus it is. The mind that scatters towards objects is called the activity of awareness or the playful mind. It is not the actual bodhicitta. Therefore, it is crucial to know the difference between these two. From the Precious Treasury of the Dharmadhatu, appearing in the realms of existence, the commentary on the second chapter." "Having thus shown the nature of bodhicitta, now the nature of how all phenomena are gathered into the great perfection within that state is explained: "All are gathered into the all-encompassing bodhicitta. Since there is no phenomenon apart from bodhicitta, all phenomena are the nature of bodhicitta." Since all phenomena arise from the state of bodhicitta and appear within that state, it is like all the vessels and contents being gathered within the state of space, and like all the tastes of molasses being gathered into the taste of a single piece of molasses, thus showing the nature of samsara and nirvana, and how the intentions of all the Buddhas are gathered. As it says in the Kunjed Gyalpo: "In me, the All-Creating King, the meaning of the intentions of all the Buddhas of the three times is gathered. In this nature of mine, body is gathered, speech is gathered, mind is gathered." And, from the nature of the All-Creating King, "As the unborn is shown, since all Buddhas are unborn, the unborn dharmata is shown to be gathered." In the nature of the All-Creating King, "As the dharmata is without cessation, the dharmata of all the Buddhas mentioned above is without cessation. Therefore, it is shown that the dharmata is gathered." Thus it is. Such a bodhicitta should be known through three aspects: example, meaning, and sign. First, the example: The example of bodhicitta is like space. Since the mind has no cause and no place of origin, it is non-abiding and inexpressible.
