Sammo! By symbolizing emptiness with the sky, do not think of it as nihilistic annihilation where nothing exists. By symbolizing the ground as the basis for qualities and so forth, the root of the (1)Dharmadhatu's manifestation, do not think of it as a basis and what is based upon it, connected on top of awareness, because the appearances of samsara and nirvana and awareness both transcend the extremes of existence and non-existence, and because of the base and the arising of appearances and so forth. Now, explaining the nature of the naturally abiding, genuine essence: In the nature, samsara and nirvana are not established, naturally abiding. Good and bad, acceptance and rejection, are not established, naturally abiding. Abandonment and attainment, grasping and clinging, are not established, naturally abiding. The five poisons of affliction are not established, naturally abiding. Limitation and bias are not established, naturally abiding. Talent and planning are not established, naturally abiding. Slightly imputing, not obstructing, naturally abiding. Although various terms are established, in terms of the ultimate nature of awareness, it is beyond adding, subtracting, refuting, and establishing statements, because samsara and nirvana, good and bad, acceptance and rejection, abandonment and attainment, afflictions, limitations, biases, talents, playfulness, planning places, and planning have never been established. As it says in the *Madhyamakavatara*: The nature of phenomena, the dharmadhatu, and self-nature, motion, emptiness, and the exhaustion of thought, the basis, completion, path, and fruit are nonexistent. The nature of phenomena is not made by anyone. By nature, it is pure, free from elaboration. Conceptual distinctions transcend the realm of objects. Verbal arising, confusion, is perpetually severed. And as it says in the *Klong Drug Pa*: Free from the elaboration of many symbols and words, Without phenomena, it transcends all examination. There is no Buddha and no sentient being. So it is. It does not obstruct examination, but why are there no talents and plans? It is explained as follows: In self-born wisdom, phenomena are exhausted, names are nonexistent, What talent and playfulness arise? The basis itself is nonexistent. Bondage and liberation are nonexistent, the natural state is naturally abiding. The name "liberation" indicates self-extinction, without any trace, Everything is and everything is not, examination does not contradict. Primordially liberated, therefore it is spoken in words. It is merely named because it is not established, because names and meanings have no connection. The meaning is without essence, and the name cannot be found even if you search everywhere, therefore, since names and meanings are not established, what connection can be ascertained? Awareness, and its talents, playfulness, and self-liberation, are also, in the face of the unexamined state, for understanding the terms,

It is merely to speculate for easy understanding. If awareness itself has no essence, then where would the place of arising from it be, and the appearing, and the various manifestations, how could they exist in meaning? However, from non-existence itself, the manner of appearance does not cease. When it appears, such speculation is like the appearance of an illusion. The magician, and his mantra, and the manifestation of the mantra, the three illusory horse, cow, and elephant, if not examined and analyzed, the appearance will not cease, just as one appears from another. The power of awareness, and the manifestation that arises from the power, appearing as samsara and nirvana, is also just an appearance in the face of not being examined and analyzed. If analyzed, the absence of horse and elephant is a clear appearance, the mantra is sound emptiness without trace. The magician's body is indivisible into particles. The mind is separated into one and many and cannot be established. Likewise, all the environment and beings of samsara and nirvana that appear as manifestations are clearly apparent as non-existent. Power is self-luminous emptiness. Awareness is completely exhausted of phenomena. Being free from the extremes of one and many, it is beyond the realm of thought and expression. If, at the time of not examining and analyzing, one thinks that this appearance arises from the power of skill, so it is knowledge, then we would never accept such a wrong view. The illusory horse and elephant appear as the manifestation of the magician, but they are not the magician. If the illusory horse and elephant were the magician, then when the illusion appears, the magician would also be non-existent, and before the appearance does not exist, the magician would also be non-existent, because the magician does not appear after the illusion exists or does not exist and disappears or does not disappear, so these two are not the same entity. The appearance and one's own mind are also not the same entity, because the appearance does not follow me in going and coming, and I do not follow the appearance in going and coming, so they are not the same entity. If it is said that because it is the manifestation of awareness, this appearance should follow me in going and coming, then the appearance of general existence does not follow the individual existence in going and coming. Even if there is no self, mountains and so on still exist, which is obvious. The mountain of individual existence, which is merely a manifestation of appearance, disappears when that person dies. Therefore, each manifestation follows each one in going and coming, and the general one follows the general one in going and coming, so there is no fault in answering separately. If it is said that when the self does not exist, the mountain of self-appearance has not disappeared, the manifestation still exists
