In terms of liberation, considering the essence of existence and non-existence, appearance and emptiness, view and meditation, etc., as one, and considering them as different, etc., are all delusions, because nothing is established in self-arisen wisdom. Therefore, clinging to samsara and the appearance of samsara as established in one's own mind is also an obstacle to realizing the meaning of Dharma-nature, because it is clinging to reality and characteristics. Considering existence and non-existence, and being and non-being, is also a sudden appearance of mental obscurations on the nature of freedom from elaboration, because it is a web of various elaborations. In short, all thoughts, words, and clinging to objects are inverted completely conceptualized objects, and for those who realize the essence as transparent and unobstructed, it is called the door of darkness that obscures, and it is shown as the demon of clinging to characteristics and binding. From the Great Garuda Sutra: Body and speech are fabricated, and the mind clings to grasping, obscuring the true meaning of Dharma-nature. What other friend or foe is greater than this? So it is said. At this time, in order to be liberated from the dangerous path of the demon to be abandoned, it is important to understand it, so let me explain it briefly. The essence of the demon is ignorance and the delusion accompanied by grasping and clinging. The definition is that it obstructs liberation, hence it is a demon. If classified, the root classification is the two, grasping and clinging. The branch classification is the four demons of aggregates, the lord of death, afflictions, and the son of the gods. The detailed classification is twenty-eight kinds of external demons and so on. The classification of transformations is inconceivable, because there are as many demons as there are limits of conceptual thoughts, differences in karma, and collections of afflictions. In summary, they are all included in conceptual thought alone. Since conceptual thought is liberated in the state of awareness, realizing the meaning of awareness as transparent and unobstructed is called a yogi who has conquered the demons. These are also from the self-liberation of awareness, the demon bound by the characteristics of conceptual thought, inconceivable and numerous, unspeakable and inconceivable. How the characteristics of conceptual thought change, everything is the nature of the demon, and this should also be briefly indicated as follows: If grasping and clinging are attached to objects, it is an external demon. If conceptual thought acts in delusion, it is an internal demon. Fame (1) spreading widely is being deceived by the demon. The body being decorated beautifully is being deceived by the demon. The sweet words of relatives are being deceived by the demon. Attachment and hatred towards enemies

Deceived by demons. Grasping at self is being deceived by demons. If attachment to the body arises, that too is a demon. If attached to the objects of grasping and being grasped, that is an external demon. If attached to the taste of samadhi, that is an internal demon. If attached to the realm of appearances, that is the demon of the realm of appearances. If consumed by doubt about what is and is not, that is the demon of conceptual thought. If carried away by activity and distraction, that is the demon of samsara. If conceptual thought enters the mind, that is the demon of the mind. If attached to the dharmas of grasping and being grasped, that is the demon of the intellect. If attached to the enjoyment of retinue, that is the demon of distraction. If attached to the dharmas of samsara, that is the demon of the aggregates. If attached to the mire of disputes, that is the demon of afflictions. If attached to friends of liking and disliking, that is the demon of the gods. If anger is fierce, and pride is great, that is the demon of the lord of death. If attached to the deity of meditation, that is the demon of bondage. If attached to the five attachments and aversions, that is the demon of the lower realms. If attached to the ten virtuous practices, that is the demon of the place of birth. If attached to the path of samsara, that is the demon of ignorance. If greed arises towards objects, that is the demon of attachment. If abandoning the slander of dharma, that is the demon of jealousy. If denigrating others, that is the demon of pride. If abandoning others, that is the demon of faults. Likewise, the ways in which one is deceived by demons are inconceivable. Words cannot exhaust them, they are numerous. Moreover, if the four root demons are vanquished, then the demons will not find an opportunity. The distinctions of demons are regarded in this way. Thus it is said. Therefore, conceptual thought is the demon of samsara. It is nonexistent and empty, and cannot be grasped. Demons too should be realized in their own nature. In the light of great wisdom, there are no demons, and there is nothing to be made into a demon. There is only self-arisen awareness. Apart from that, there are no demons. Demons, look to your own awareness. By realizing that, all demons, naturally vanish and are naturally destroyed. Before I existed, there was not even the name of demon. Since demons arise from me, there is no separate thing called demon. Those who grasp at conceptual thought as self, are one of the great roots of demons. If I am realized, then all demons are awakened. All the demons that grasp at conceptual thought, are pacified within me through skillful means. Therefore, all the demons of conceptual thought, are nonexistent from the beginning, and pure from the beginning. Demons are the play of wisdom, arising from me, and deluded from me. Therefore, it is my magical display. My play is inconceivable. My magical display is not difficult. All is my play. Thus it is said. Now
