Liberated from 'A.' Since appearance and emptiness are without gathering or separation, one is liberated from both extremes. Since the face of the viewer is pure, one is liberated from the extreme of duality. Hold that all is unborn from the beginning, pure from the very start. Sixth, holding the ground as liberation from good and bad is: Not biased towards the high, the clinging to the best of goodness subsides. Not biased towards the low, the mind of abandoning the worst subsides. Not biased towards duality, dualistic grasping empties in its own place. Not biased towards non-duality, one is liberated from all extremes. If one does not know the great fortress of such a view, one cannot stand on one's own, dullness and obscurations arise, and one will not gain benefit from the meaning of the lower. Therefore, the key instruction of holding the ground is precious. The six dharmas for summoning discursive thoughts as friends are: Take the conceptual consciousness as if it were hail, dissolving on its own. Self-arisen wisdom arises from within. Purify the movement on its own, like lightning in space. Whatever moves is self-illuminating, wisdom arises. Take memory as if it were muddy water, dissolving on its own. Whatever is remembered arises as the self-arisen intention of the Victorious Ones. Whatever discursive thought arises, take the expanse of dharmata as a friend. From within arises the intention without acceptance or rejection. Grasping exhausts itself, take the absence of object as a friend. Groundless appearance vanishes, wisdom arises in itself. Self-sounding clear and pure, take clear space as a friend. Awareness without trace arises from within. For such a yogi who practices, wisdom arises from discursive thoughts themselves. Just as a great fire blazes from dry wood. It is extremely precious for everything to arise as a friend. The six key points for abiding in the nature of dharmata are: The key point of settling the roots, winds, elements, all in their own essential points. The body is meditation, establishing the six dharmas, and the key point of liberating the deluded appearances of ordinary self. Knowing the mandala of the Victorious Ones, the container and contents, and the key point of blazing the nature of great bliss itself. Closing the lower gate and gathering the upper wind, and the key point of abiding in the nature of non-conceptual dharmata. Turning the tip of the tongue upwards, not touching the two palates. The key point of self-illuminating wisdom purifying in space. Fixing both eyes upwards, a handspan high in the sky, and the key point of primordial wisdom spontaneously accomplishing. Mind itself, without fabrication, relax and rest clear and lucid. Thus, with skillful means, abide in the nature of dharmata. All fortunate ones, strike the key points with diligence. The six methods for abiding in the nature of dharmata are: To be known by six instructions. First, with the instruction of non-differentiation of the three times. Eliminating the extremes of conceptual thought of dualistic mind is: Not following after the past.

Examining the future, do not welcome it; in the present, abide together in a state of non-attachment." "With the key instruction of a bird entering its nest, dispel the extremes of hope and fear. Since there is no arising or entering in the mind in the present, relax and abide in a state of non-distraction and equanimity." "With the key instruction of a person abandoning activities, dispel the extreme of permanence of clinging to objects. The nature of mind, the natural state of non-contrivance and equanimity, abandon it in the great freedom from clinging, and abide all at once." "With the key instruction of a great garuda soaring in the sky, dispel the extreme of doubt and dualistic clinging. The state of awareness cut off at the end, self-arisen and pristine, abandon it in the vast expanse, and abide all at once." "With the key instruction of dawn breaking and the sun rising purely, dispel the extreme of diverse appearances of objects. Without gathering in the senses, without preventing movement, release the six consciousnesses freely and let them abide." "With the key instruction of signs clearing in their own place, dispel the extreme of diverse thoughts and concepts. Whatever appears as an object, without acceptance or rejection, abide as it is in the natural, uncorrected state." "Having thus abided, since all phenomena abide in a state of non-duality, definitive understanding will arise, free from extremes and vast in expanse. The six common faults of meditation are shown as follows: Without distinguishing clarity and purity, it becomes a dull, non-conceptual state. Deliberately meditating on clarity, wisdom becomes biased. Scattering and inwardly contracting, it becomes a rigid mental fixation. Without understanding the profound depth, it becomes empty talk. Without thorough realization, it becomes doubt influenced by circumstances. With artificiality of the three doors, it becomes conceptual proliferation. Whatever of these six faults arises becomes an obscuration. Those who desire the true meaning should dispel them and then meditate. The names of the six wrong paths are shown as follows: The meditation on the four extremes of the sense bases is mental activity. The nihilistic view that holds onto the absence of conventional cause and effect. Holding onto the unchanging nature of the grasped and the grasper as a great permanence. Viewing objects as enemies and thorns. Gathering everything into the mind and meditating on self-awareness and self-illumination. Transforming conceptual thoughts into deities, delaying from the true meaning. Do not fall into these six, the realm of the nature of reality free from extremes. Cherish not straying from the state of great equanimity. If the six faults arise, there are six methods of remedy. Remedy as clouds dissolving in the sky. Whatever diverse displays of the mind arise, remedy them with the purity of the nature of reality, the sky. Remedy as a thief entering an empty house. The essence of thoughts, which is without inherent existence, whatever arises
