The reckless will disappear, associating with householders leads to loss of agricultural benefits, associating with merchants leads to reduced profit accumulation, associating with those with hatred leads to cruel behavior, associating with relatives and friends leads to difficulty in obtaining food and clothing. Therefore, one should abandon bad friends and rely on good friends who possess Dharma. The six faults of relying on a bad family are: impermanence, although it has arisen in the mind, is carried away by laziness; although one possesses faith and wisdom, one cannot find opportunities to act; although one knows that this life is meaningless, one cannot let go of the world; although there are profound teachings, only verbal aspirations remain; although one is learned and knowledgeable, one cannot benefit oneself and others; although one understands the view of reality, one dies in ordinariness. Do not be influenced by these, be very careful. Revealing the six demonic dharmas of temptation are: the demon of those who are greedy for wealth being tempted by wealth, the demon of those who are learned being tempted by merit, the demon of those of noble birth being tempted by birth, the demon of those who accumulate wealth being tempted by fortune, the demon of those who do evil being tempted by bad circumstances, the demon of those who desire fame being tempted by words. Because there are so many, do not be controlled by them. The six faults of learning wrongly and becoming lazy are: ordinary thoughts, actions, and idle talk are excessive; one wrong evil deed leads to the continuation of another; in view, attachment to self and various forms of greed and hatred arise; in practice, evil thoughts and wrong views are continuous; in behavior, various non-virtuous and non-Dharma things are done; one loses faith in the Dharma and is controlled by this life. These people will lose the path to liberation and become lazy. Because learning wrongly leads to an increase in evil deeds, one should stay away from it. The six dharmas of mixed good and evil that should not be abandoned are: do not rely on a teacher who cannot increase non-greed and non-hatred, do not rely on a student who cannot recognize mistakes and shortcomings, do not do good deeds that accumulate non-virtue and evil, do not give alms expecting respect and reward, do not make offerings to nourish food, wealth, and relatives, do not preach the Dharma to obtain benefits through deception. Listening to these will be in accordance with the Dharma. The six dharmas that go against expectations are: a practitioner who has not transformed ordinary thoughts, relying on a lama without faith, respect, and service, claiming to be a great teacher without integrating the Dharma with oneself

Yearning! It is futile to rely on monasteries without abandoning the busyness of laziness. It is futile to meditate on contemplation without increasing merit. It is futile to do good for others without focusing on the essence of practice. These six different kinds of mixing should be avoided by the wise. The six kinds of deceptive dharmas are: False view, without establishing confidence, deceiving one's own mind with wavering and empty talk. False meditation, without hitting the key point, stupid meditation, and speculation also deceive one's own mind. False behavior, without being cautious, crazy behavior, and rude behavior also deceive one's own mind. False vows, without fearing wrongdoing, the protection and defense of hypocrisy also deceive one's own mind. False hearing and thinking, without desiring Buddhahood, self-righteousness and desire for fame also deceive one's own mind. False fruit, without realizing the nature of mind, expecting the future also deceives one's own mind. Do not be controlled by deception, cherish it very much. The six kinds of national affairs that should be abandoned are: Do not sell ancestors and lamas, do not engage in religious divination and deception. Do not lose brotherhood due to trivial matters and quarrels. Do not do illegal things that harm public places and violate the law. Do not spread evil words and poison, and do not lure others' rewards. Do not talk nonsense without restraint, and do not talk about others' rights and wrongs. Do not undertake unsolicited affairs, and abandon worldly desires. When entrusted and capable, one should accomplish Buddhahood through Dharma. For those who enter practice in accordance with Dharma, the six faults of going to villages and towns are: Being contaminated, causing experience and blessings to disappear. The arising of afflictions leads to the loss of the three studies and protection. Breaking vows leads to the appearance of adverse conditions and obstacles. The spread of illusions leads to the loss of the three abilities of view, meditation, and action. Being infected by worldliness leads to the deviation of one's own mind from Dharma. Controlled by bad karma, one eventually goes to a secular family. Therefore, do not go to villages and towns, and rely on secluded places. Even when walking on the road, one should have the awareness of being in prison. Guard the senses, do not be distracted by external objects, and be very cautious. Tightly linking the six places of practice is: The state of view abides in the intention of the Buddha. The key points of the practice are firmly grasped by the method. The realization of wisdom is tightly filled with reasoning. The key to the arising stage lies in liberating the attachment to objective appearances. Gather everything into the unchanging state of mind. Closely link all Dharmas to the Great Perfection. If these key points are hit, enlightenment can be achieved in this life. The instruction of the profound six bases is taught.
