Forgetting faith due to distraction, Forgetting the Three Jewels while seeking food in hunger, Forgetting vows due to bad character and narrow-mindedness, Forgetting suffering due to blurred vision and heartlessness, Forgetting virtue due to craving for possessions and seeking gain, Forgetting bodhicitta due to hatred and poisonous thoughts, Forgetting the lower realms due to meaningless wandering, Possessing these six causes long wandering. The exhortation of the six instructions is: The yoga of the holy ones is a priceless treasure, Do not be lazy in practice, do not postpone. When conceptual thoughts arise, contemplation is the firewood of wisdom. Do not hold on to focused concentration as supreme. Suffering and adverse conditions are the spur to virtue. Do not engage in lamentation and wailing. What appears as the five poisons is the secret path of wisdom. Do not regard enemies as evil omens. Various obstacles are the early signs of accomplishment. Do not harbor jealousy, evil thoughts, and hatred. What appears as samsara is the pure land of the Victorious Ones. Do not cling to the illusion of dualistic perception as real. The six corruptions that deviate from the nature of reality are: Reality is vast and impartial, But it is corrupted by the arising of mental fabrications of desire. The nature of reality is beyond words, thought, and expression, But it is corrupted by clinging to extremes of existence and non-existence, and by making false accusations. The nature of mind is non-dual, without arising or ceasing, But it is corrupted by generating the concept of clinging to birth and death. The appearance of objects and the nature of mind are like a mirror of emptiness, But it is corrupted by the entry of attachment, aversion, and clinging to reality. The ultimate truth is devoid of the characteristics of elaboration, But it is corrupted by clinging to reality and doubting the meaning. Reality is the universal ground, impartial dependent arising, But it is corrupted by the contamination of the habitual patterns of grasping and clinging. Abandoning the six wrong livelihoods: Pretending and deceiving for gain is a wrong livelihood. Flattering and deceiving for gain is a wrong livelihood. Being biased and protective for gain is a wrong livelihood. Practicing divination and cheating is a wrong livelihood. Seeking gain through hearing and thinking is a wrong livelihood. Using offerings casually is a wrong livelihood. It is good to abandon these by practicing properly. Explaining the six common instructions of Dharma: Abandoning pride and maintaining pure conduct is an instruction. Taming the mind with the four immeasurables is an instruction. Practicing union of whatever arises is an instruction. Seeking the essential points of the profound grounds and paths is an instruction. View, mind

It is the instruction for self-liberation. Impartial hearing and thinking is the instruction. The six instructions for giving up hope are: For the shameless, giving up hope in guarding vows; for the unenthusiastic, giving up hope in practice; for the unfaithful and disrespectful, giving up hope in blessings; for the unwise, giving up hope in realization; for the lazy, giving up hope in signs of accomplishment; for the ill-intentioned, giving up hope in altruism. The six stages of teaching shown are: First, learn writing, reading, sound, and measurement as an entrance; second, keep vows and contemplate the Tripitaka; third, enter the path and rely on the noble lama; fourth, listen to the noble oral transmission to please him; fifth, strive diligently to accomplish the practice completely; sixth, benefit others without weariness. These are the traditions of noble followers. The six dharmas for nurturing fortunate students are: For the faithful, know how to accept them according to their wishes; for the diligent, know how to guide their actions and arrange the path; for those who are lost in words of hearing and thinking, do not let them drown in it, but lead them into practice; do not teach those who seek wealth and merit, but lead them to virtue; do not teach those who accumulate wealth, but teach them contentment; do not engage in worldly discussions, but lead them into Dharma. These are the skillful methods of a good spiritual friend. The six situations where mindfulness is abandoned are: Lost in this life? Abandon mindfulness! Distracted by laziness? Abandon mindfulness! Errors or confusion arise? Abandon mindfulness! Losing illusions or delusions? Abandon mindfulness! Speaking unseemly words? Abandon mindfulness! The body becomes vulgar? Abandon mindfulness! The six actions of Dharma practitioners are: Calculate that life is short and passing quickly. For the magnitude of karmic results, good and bad, take and abandon. It is difficult to accomplish benefiting others, do not lose benefiting yourself. What is to be known is endless, do not get lost in words. Do not practice ignorantly because of ignorance, falling into delusion. Do not become arrogant because you want to be virtuous. The six dharmas for thinking well when wanting to practice are: Before leaving this life, do not abandon your homeland. Before desire is cut off, you cannot stay in solitude. Before the school is liberated, bind your mind with Dharma. Before meditation arises, you cannot sit on the cushion. Without antidotes, you cannot prevent the causes of distraction. Holding asceticism as supreme turns the antidote into poison. Therefore, it is important to think well about these. The good display of the six internal and external signs is:
