Sa so. According to the tenets of the Madhyamika school, one also wishes to be born as gods, nagas, etc., who believe in the Mahayana and desire to attain Buddhahood. As it is said in the "Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines": "At that time, the son of the gods, Nikri, generated the unsurpassed bodhicitta." And in the "Sutra Requested by the Naga King of the Sea": "Twenty-two thousand nagas generated bodhicitta." And so on. Also, in the "Intermediate Mother Sutra": "At that time, countless gods, nagas, asuras, garudas, kimnaras, and mahoragas generated unsurpassed bodhicitta." The basis for abiding after it has arisen can be any of the five types of beings. As it is said in the "Bhadrakalpa Sutra": "When the Victorious One, wishing to benefit, became a village chief, the Tathagata Sonam O, after taking the vow to abstain from killing for one day, first generated the supreme bodhicitta." Therefore, if someone asks: Is it not necessary to have the vows of individual liberation as the basis for generating bodhicitta? The answer is: That is the bodhicitta of the Madhyamika school, but even just abstaining from killing for one day is not the vow of individual liberation. Rather, it is based on that root of virtue as the cause for generating bodhicitta, and it is not said to be the basis. The basis for thinking is having special meritorious wisdom such as faith. Second, the nature has three aspects: essence, cause, and result. First, the essence has three aspects: definition, classification, and individual meanings. The first is: What is the mind of the Mahayana path? (1) Definition: It can be established as the name of bodhicitta. For the sake of others, it is that which is encompassed by the aspiration and action of wishing to attain perfect Buddhahood, and which has become the essence of the six perfections. As it is said in the "Ornament for Clear Realization": "For the sake of others, one generates the mind, wishing to attain perfect enlightenment." There are seven classifications. From the perspective of two, as it is said in the "Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life": "Bodhicitta, in brief, should be known as twofold, namely, the mind of aspiring to bodhi and the mind of engaging in bodhi." The "Nirvana Sutra" also says: "According to the difference between conventional and ultimate, bodhicitta is twofold, like the sound of Sendhipa." From the perspective of three, with the order of the three trainings, the pure training

The learning of. Abiding is the learning of mind. Liberation is the mind of wisdom, these three are of three forms. Classified by four: In the accumulation and preparation stages, there is the generation of the mind of practice through faith. In the seventh ground and below, and the first ground and above, there is the generation of the mind of pure intention. In the three pure grounds, there is the generation of the mind of maturation. In the Buddha ground, there is the generation of the mind of abandoning obscurations. As stated in the Ornament of Sutras: The generation of mind is in the grounds, faith and superior intention, purity and maturation, likewise, the abandonment of two obscurations. Thus it is said. Classified by five: The five generations of mind of the five paths. Classified by six: The six of the six perfections, as stated in the Intermediate Mother: With which of the six perfections does the sixfold generation of mind correspond? The division of grounds is exemplified by twenty-two similes, as stated in the Ornament of Realization: They are earth, gold, moon, and fire, treasure and jewel source, sea, vajra, mountain, medicine, spiritual friend, wish-fulfilling jewel, sun, dragon, king, treasury, great path, vehicle, adorned water, sound, shadow, river, and clouds, these are twenty-two aspects. Thus it is said. The meaning symbolized by these examples is, as stated in the commentary: Desire, intention, superior intention, application, generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom, skillful means, aspiration, power, the perfection of wisdom, clairvoyance, merit, wisdom, the aspects of enlightenment, conducive dharma, compassion, insight, retention, fearlessness, the feast of dharma, the single path, and possessing the Dharmakaya. Among these, the first three are the three of the accumulation path. Application is in the preparation path. The ten from generosity to wisdom are the ten grounds. The five from clairvoyance to retention and fearlessness are the three pure grounds. The last three exist in the application, main practice, and subsequent practice of the ten grounds. Among these, the generation of mind obtained through the ritual of commitment exists in the path of learning, but not in the Buddha ground. Great compassion obscures.
