Mapané: First, in solitary and pleasing places, as soon as the preliminary practices are completed in order, one should meditate on the actual clear light wisdom. In a solitary and pleasing place, sit comfortably on a cushion, cultivate the generation stage, either extensively or concisely, and then rest in equipoise on the meaning of the clear light of the completion stage. Clear light. Furthermore, without skillful means, wisdom does not arise. Therefore, one should first seek meditative concentration through various skillful means. Just as a sprout arises from many causes and conditions, the arising of wisdom does not manifest merely from its own existence; therefore, it is necessary to rely on various skillful means. What are these? From the support of an object of focus, non-objectification arises. From that, the wisdom of suchness dawns. Therefore, the stages of cultivating calm abiding should also be practiced as taught in one's own lineage. That is, non-objectification arises in dependence on an object of focus. As it is stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Depending on an object of focus, non-objectification arises completely." That very thing should be practiced according to one's preference, as the different aspects are taught in the individual tantras. Occasion: Here, a brief summary is presented. In the body, there are channels and places for them, and in those are winds and elements. Since they rely on their own nature, it is crucial to press on those essential points. In this occasion of taking into practice the three—the unsurpassed father and mother, indivisible—it is crucial to press on the essential points of the three—channels, winds, and bindus—since one cultivates by ascertaining that wisdom arises from the means of these three. That is, when the channel becomes essential, the body becomes essential. When the wind becomes essential, the life force becomes essential. When the bindu becomes essential, exertion is crucial. Here, some fathers of secret mantra lineages consider the clarity and bliss of the awareness that arises solely from the means of wind to be ultimate reality. Some mothers of secret mantra lineages consider the bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality that arises from the bindu to be ultimate reality, and they hold the view that relying solely on those means is supreme. However, this is not the path to liberation. As it is stated in the Accomplishment of Wisdom: "What is the bellows of the body, and what makes the bellows blow?" "They do not see the difference between these. The yogi who sees that suppresses the function of the bellows." Furthermore, "The bliss that arises from the union of the two organs, if that generates wisdom, then it is said to be great bliss, but the Victorious One has not spoken of it. Great bliss is not impermanent; great bliss is permanent."
