And, in the "Moon Essence Sutra," it says: The faith that is निश्चित (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) in the Three Jewels is like a wish-fulfilling jewel. The nature of one who has faith is explained as follows: The nature of faith is like good earth, it is the basis of all Dharmas, and it makes virtuous deeds grow. Faith is like a ship, it can cross the river of samsara. Like a guide, it can protect from demons and afflictions. Like a mount, it can lead to the island of liberation. Like the king of jewels, it can accomplish all wishes. Like a hero, it can overwhelm sins. It is the supreme wealth of the holy ones who accumulate merit. Faith is like fertile land, it can make the sprout of bodhi grow, as the "Lamp of Jewels Sutra" says: Unrotten seeds are the root of all qualities, faith can make the bodhi tree grow. Faith can also find self-arising qualities. Like a ship on the ocean, faith can cross the river of samsara, as the "Ten Dharmas Sutra" says: By what does one lead the one who is determined to renounce? Faith is the supreme vehicle. Therefore, a person with intelligence should rely on following faith. Like a good guide, faith can protect from the enemy of afflictions, as the "Secret Inconceivable Sutra" says: One who has faith, after being born in the presence of the Buddhas, diligently seeks all virtuous dharmas, not pursuing family, wife, children, etc. Even in youth, he does not like to play, but with faith, he renounces and relies on a virtuous friend, listening to and practicing the Dharma with a good mind, taking it seriously as the core, and not treating words lightly. He diligently studies extensively, and for the Dharma he has heard, he does not seek fame and fortune, but speaks to others with compassion. Faith is like a good mount, it can lead to the island of liberation, as the "Lamp of Jewels Sutra" says: Faith abandons unfavorable conditions and obtains the best of leisure. Faith transcends the path of demons, and it increases the special door of wisdom. It is the supreme thing that shows the path of liberation. Faith can accomplish the desired wishes, like a jewel, as that sutra says: Faith is the best of treasures, wealth, and footprints. Faith makes one happy to give completely. Faith is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, it gives what is needed.

ས་སོ། 信仰如同勇士一般，能摧毁不善。如《海问经》中所说：信仰具有对佛等生起信乐的力量，具有因相信业和果报而进入的力量，具有不舍弃菩提心的力量，具有修持本尊时坚定的力量，具有舍弃一切不善并能忍受一切罪行的力量。因此，信仰能避免无暇，积聚善业，所以有信仰的人比其他人更殊胜，非常稀有。如经中所说：信仰是生起信心的门，没有执着。能避免无暇，是获得闲暇的殊胜之因。信仰是获得胜利果位的因。谁对这样的法生起信仰，他们在各自的众生群体中是稀有的。因此，信仰是七财中的第一个，拥有信仰是殊胜的。如《秘密不可思议经》中所说：因为具有信仰、信心和信乐，以及没有烦恼的心，所以对业和果报没有怀疑，没有犹豫和二心，具有信乐、证悟和信任。知道善恶之业和果报不会白费，即使为了生命也不做恶业，行持十善业道，通过布施获得受用，通过持戒获得善趣，通过听闻获得智慧，通过禅修使一切功德增长。没有信仰的过患是：对于没有解脱缘分的人来说，没有丝毫的信仰。它的过患是极其无边的。对于没有佛法缘分的不信者来说，即使没有像芝麻一样小的信仰，也有无数的过患。如果简略地概括：如同海底的石头一样，远离解脱的陆地。如同没有舵的船一样，没有从轮回中解脱的时候。如同断臂的人一样，没有行善的福分。如同烧焦的种子一样，没有菩提的幼苗。如同盲人一样，看不到佛法的形象。如同陷入轮回的深渊一样，永远在轮回中漂泊。如同海底的珊瑚一样，不会浮到水面上，没有信仰就不会出现在解脱的陆地上。如同没有舵的船无法到达彼岸一样，没有信仰就无法从痛苦的河流中解脱。如同断臂的人即使到了金洲也无法拿取黄金一样，没有信仰就没有功

Sa So. Faith, like a hero, destroys negativity. As stated in the Ocean-Asked Sutra: Faith has the power to generate devotion to the Buddhas and so on; the power to engage through believing in karma and its results; the power to not abandon the mind of enlightenment; the power to be steadfast in practicing the chosen deity; and the power to abandon all negativity and endure all misdeeds. Therefore, faith avoids non-leisure and accumulates merit, so a person with faith is more excellent than others and is rare. As it says in the same text: Faith is the gate to attachment, without attachment. It avoids non-leisure and is the supreme cause of leisure. Faith is the cause of attaining the state of victory. Those who have faith in such a Dharma, they are rare in their respective assemblies of beings. Therefore, faith is the first of the seven riches, and having it is noble. As it says in the Secret Inconceivable Sutra: Because one possesses faith, confidence, and devotion, and a mind without defilement, one has no doubt about karma and its results, no hesitation or double-mindedness, and possesses devotion, realization, and trust. Knowing that virtuous and non-virtuous actions and their results are not wasted, one does not commit non-virtuous actions even for the sake of life, but practices the ten paths of virtuous action, and through generosity, enjoyment; through discipline, higher realms; through learning, wisdom; and through meditation, all qualities increase. The faults of not having faith are: Those without the fortune for liberation have no faith at all. Its faults are extremely limitless. For the non-believer without the fortune for Dharma, even without faith as small as a sesame seed, there are countless faults. If summarized briefly: Like a stone at the bottom of the ocean, one is separated from the dry land of liberation. Like a rudderless boat, there is no time to be freed from existence. Like a handless person, there is no share of virtue. Like a burnt seed, there is no sprout of enlightenment. Like a blind person, there is no appearance of the form of Dharma. Like being trapped in a whirlpool of samsara, one wanders forever in samsara. Just as a coral at the bottom of the ocean does not rise to the surface, without faith, one will not appear on the dry land of liberation. Just as a rudderless boat cannot reach the other shore, without faith, one cannot be freed from the river of suffering. Just as a handless person cannot take gold even if they go to the golden island, without faith, there is no merit.
